I have an office too, so it's harder to notice (and my back faces the door most of the time, so no one can see my face unless I turned around).

I've never actually slept at work though. I closed my eyes for like 1 minute once, but it's hard for me to fall asleep in random places.

you are better than i jaline, better than i. in my defense i was 19 at the time..so i mean..yea..late nights.

I'm 20 right now. I suspect I may fall asleep during the fall / winter months since I'll be going to school full-time while working for a day or two.

I worked construction for a while, punch list work for new homes(fixing odds and ends, before the house closed)
anyway you were left in the house unsupervised most of the day, so we used to take naps in closets, bathtubs, large cabinets, etc. Even in open houses we weren't working in.

I had a job last summer at a "multi-level marketing" (bleh) place where the work was sleep inducing. My desk was facing a corner and I got away with some good 20 minute power naps with my chin resting in my hand. People only seemed to stop by to "see what I was doing" when I was doing graphic work. It was then that I figured out that if I opened up a page of code full screen, no-one would bother me the whole day.
I would fall asleep with one hand on the mouse and my head perched in my hand "looking at the screen". From behind it probably looked like I was thinking.I only lasted a couple weeks more at that place before I had to get out of there. Leaving that place was the best move I've ever made career-wise so far.

i racked out drunk in a closet for a few hours once.
but i was a 22 year old draftsman working the third shift at a shitty company... so me and them, we were pretty much even that night.

I rarely leave the office for lunch, so, I probably spend about 30 minutes of my hour long lunch eating at the office, then, if I'm tired, I'll just put my head down on my desk and catch a 30 min nap; I figure it's my time to use, so fuck it. Also, if it's winter time I'll just go out to my truck and sleep in there. It's only like 50-60°F here during the afternoons in winter here, plus I've got damn near limo tint windows;
lights out su-hn!

We have a nice, dark room on one of our floors in the building where people go all the time to take a rest. Each little room is closed off too, so you have ultimate privacy.

when I worked at Kinkos a friend of mine used to work the overnight shift and since the foam core mounter would heat up he would turn it on and take naps on it.

i read about a 'powernap' somewhere, where you drink an espresso/coffee, then immediately lie down and close your eyes for 15 minutes. basically your nervous system gets a rest, you clear your mind and wake up when the caffeine kicks in. it worked for me. also, i tend to start getting tired after lunch, around 3/4 pm. instead of staring at the screen waiting for the day to end, i go out, get a coffee and a donut and read the paper for 30/45mins, then stay an hour or 2 later, working till 6/7pm.

I used to put loads of wires round my neck and go behind my computer bays and sleep when I heard the doors sliding open I would simply come out from behind the bays saying whats up yo! and folk would think I had being doing something tech. he he
