AT&T/iPhone vs World

Now when the iPhone is coming out, the real question rises.
Is AT&T good enough service provider to make me move away from T-Mobile to AT&T?
iPhone is great, but i've heard only bad things about AT&T. I personally think that it might be worth to wait for a bit, cause AT&T might be getting iPhone for only a few short months, after that it might be free choice of operators. At least I think that's gonna be the case.
I don't know, if AT&T was better or same level of service as T-Mobile, I might consider switching anyways, but I'm afraid to go to a worse service. Then what good is the fancy phone.
What's your take on this?

im in the same boat. i have verizon and i may switch to get the iphone. also hoping my bill will be cheaper i have a treo 650 and my bill is around 100 a month. hope at&t has some better phone and data plans

didnt at&t take over the cingular network when they merged? so in theory their network expanded?

All US cell service provider suck equally. If they have good coverage, thier pricing is screwed, if they have good customer service their coverage sucks...you get the picture.
Yes, ATT and Singular merged two years ago...which helped both providers coverage considerably.
Whoever you choose, you have made a 2 year pact with the devil.

i av em .. they're alright with me.
if you call with a bill concern they'll work with you and the coverage and lack of dropped calls seems to depend mostly on the phone .. which is an unpredictable science. i've seen cheaper phones get better coverage than expensive ones.
it all comes down to your luck, i suppose. but then .. doesn't everything?

I have thousands of rollover minutes with cingular. Im not very chatty on the phone.

I never really think I am on the phone much, but I already have like 15 hours in two weeks and 71 text messages.
I would not change my mobile provider for a phone though, haha.
Sprint is pretty good.

Cingular WAS AT&T...just a different name because everyone had such a negative view of AT&T. It boggles the mind why they would drop the cingular naem and go back to AT&T but I for one am not happy about it. It will most definately be a year, or two, before any other operators get their hand on the iphone.

My cellphone plan expires today.. I'm thinking of ditching cingular/at&t for this:
http://forums.anandtech.com/mess…500 minutes/ nights at 7/weekends/ unlimited data and text for $30.
My only problem being I don't know anyone near me (Northern Jersey) that uses Sprint, so I can't test out service at home. I don't want to bite unless I know I'll get half decent reception. Cingular's has been meh.

I'm waiting a year or so before getting the iPhone, if I even do. That should be enough time for them to move on to other providers because Rogers here in Canada is not that great either.
I hardly use a phone anyway.

I can't see paying 600 bucks for something I use so little. I just get the free phones when I sign up for another year, mostly because it is just a phone and nothing else.

yeah, I'm thinking of just buying some cheap, sleek phone for myself since I use it only for emergencies.

It's actually kind of hard to find a phone without a cam on it these days.

in terms of style the iPhone looks like a very expensive paddle. i still love my Ming, and maybe for the fact that it looks much more like a communicator should look like http://www.productcritic.com/pro…

Steve, fuckwad, buddy, pal, it's 2007, put a SIM card in that thing already you proprietary fuck

I have Cingular/AT&T right now- not the best service but people I know with sprint/verizon aren't too happy either.
The main gripe w/ AT&T is their "Edge" network is slower in data transfer than Verizin by design, but AT&T can always upgrade that.
I'm jumping to an iPhone because I need an email/web phone and haven't made the leap yet. The iPhone isn't too much more than a top of the line Blackberry or Treo. It's only 100 bucks more.

I do not have Sim Card in my phone and have no idea how to get my 300+ contacts off of it. :X
It is about that time for me to lose another phone too, I go through about 3/4 a year.

everytime i see an iphone for the rest of the year, i'm gonna point and laugh at you suckers...
- mrdobolina0
no doubt, barb.
- Jaline0
True, I think you can spot one from outerspace.

flav, sprint? i think all your contacts are stored on the sprint server to be downloaded to your next phone automatically, call and find out but i'm pretty sure
