What's your favorite hot weather drink?
I just read the ingredients to a drink called the Paloma in this month's Details:
2 oz tequila
a couple slices of squeezed lime.
A few shakes of salt
A fruit drink such as Squirt (to taste)I grabbed some tequila tonight and Squirt and damn, I could suck these down all day.
Although, it's funny - this could and should be called something more like "Moron's Margarita." I mean, it calls for Squirt or something similar!

i don't believe you're allowed to use the term squirt so openly .. isn't it a bit flagrant? :p
i mentioned in another thread last week pimms and club soda with cucumber slices .. great summer drink! refreshing and somehow feels like a health tonic.

hmm, I always thought tequila mixed with Squirt was called "Tequila & Squirt"... :P
and there's only one drink for me, all year round - Wild Turkey 101 + soda water + ice

enjoying some bulleit bourbon right now... it's pretty damn good for a cheaper bourbon. Still need to try some kickin chicken... I always forget about it for some reason! This nov. in vegas, first rounds on me!

First, go to vegas first weekend in nov.... second, this year, let's actually meet up in CO, or some other place... we've been talking about a Utah trip this winter... but whistler is calling too.

Dark & Stormy is great, love a nice Old-fashioned, too. Not too many bartenders know how to make it right, though, and you gotta tip well since they take a bit of work.

i recently learned that mixed drinks became popular during the prohibition because there was so much liquor being made with whatever chemicals the brewers could get their hands on .. to ensure the drinker got a buzz.
and since turpentine doesn't go down that smoothly the bartenders would mix it with juices.
a lot of people died of poisoning because of it.
