Friend of mine picked up an old bartenders guide from the late 1800s/early 1900s and we were going to try all the drinks in there, but about 2/3rds of them contained raw egg yolks and that just sounded gross.

Rum Runner biatches!
1 1/2 oz light rum
3/4 oz blackberry brandy
3/4 oz banana liqueur
1/4 oz grenadine syrup
1 1/2 oz orange juice
1 1/2 oz pineapple juice
Crushed ice
1 oz Bacardi 151Pour all liquids except 151 into glass. Fill with crushed ice and stir. Float 151 on top.
Gets you royally munted.

yeah, that is the D&S. only, a variation on it (that most sailors will not go without) is a wedge of fresh squeezed lime in there as well.

I don't move much beyond cider and gin and tonics in the summer.
Recently though I've been picking up a lot of cheap malt scotch, and getting through rather a lot of it. Notably Ardbeg and Laphroaig.
Yeah. That and quality gin, which I'll drink every which way I can.

Yes. Gin rules. The only true proper cocktail is the Gin and Tonic.
