like someone said it, hugo boss isn't too bad. reasonablely priced. you just have to make sure you get a slim model and exactly your size. also, i prefer flat front pants.
i've tried on gucci and prada suits before and those are really nice. especially you can tell the difference in fit and fabrics right away but i can't justify myself buying those since i wear suits maybe 6 times a year.
finally, make sure you have a mean looking pair of shoes to match your fine suits.

dangit madirish i totally missed that - but in my defense, i had just heard a rattling fart coming from the other side of the cube wall and was torn between containing my laughter and sending one right back ;)

FYI I went to Macys and tried on a J Lindeberg suit today. Holy hell was it kick ass, EXACTLY what I was looking for for the most part.
Narrow lapelles, two button, half rock and roll half professional, slim pants, perfect.
Just a bit too much $$$.
The jacket was $568, and the pants were $198. If I had alot of money to waste I'd have bought it.Strangely enough, I went to Banana Republic and am getting the same suit of the very first jacket I tried on two weeks ago. They were almost out of my size so glad I'm getting it.
Thanks again for all the suggestions everyone, I really appreciate it.
Oh, and Hugo Boss make some of the best suits I found. Very modern and cool.

man, i once found J.Lindberg suit for $300, jacket and pants at a sample sale. i should have bought it.
i got my hugo for 450 at another sample sale though.
i shop like a girl on a bargain hunt.

I bought a plain black one last year for my sisters wedding and spent a bit on it as it will last me a long time. slim fitting and traditional. Went to a tailor with a good range of off the shelf suits. They measured me and hooked me up.
Spend a decent amount to get a good one, get measured up and dont go to a department store cos the guys in there really dont care about correct fitting and what will last. Then wear the suit as much as you can to get your moneys worth out of it!
