never been to crivitz or heard of, but google maps has.
http://www.google.com/maps?q=Cri…the north west area/glacial trail of wisconsin, from pattison/superior area on downward to madison is just gorgeous. i haven't been to devil's lake area (def. off season), and I would like to take the river road all the way to the mississippi because where the WI and the Miss. rivers meet is pretty special. 500ft high cliffs on all sides offer quite the panorama.
pics to come.

I think there's actually a cobblestone pointbreak in Superior. No joke. Being on a Lake, it only breaks a few times a yr...but I saw pix in Surfer magazine last yr and it was head high and peeling for a hundred yards...
watch out for icebergs if you go :)

thanks all so far. i'll try to remember posting pics. we'll be staying at the Androy Hotel. I guess they have a bar inside. I don't dig bars, but if it gets me into a hotel for free, i can drive (and I have annual passes to both MN & WI state parks....)
thanks again. any more ideas from anyone else?

The Anchor Bar.
great place.otherwise, head to duluth for a better time. The Brewhouse in the fitger's building is a great place to eat (no bfast though). the only place in superior to get pancakes though i think is Louie's cafe on the main drag. but seriously, superior is a pretty big %hithole overall. pattison is great though. have fun.

Glensheen Mansion?

those have been my sentiments. friend wants to get a hotel in downtown superior near the bars. i am too much of a misanthrope.

(Apr 23 07, 21:57)um, whats wrong with your friend?! the bars are so much better in Duluth. if he wants dive bars, you guys might as well drive to Hurley and hit up the girlie bars.
who knows, maybe superior bars are a diamond in the rough, i actually haven't been to any of em.

So. What to do. I'm gonna be in Superior, WI after visiting Pattison and Amnicon State parks, (not to be confused with Anticon), this Thursday night. I want to get up for dawn sunrise at Gooseberry State Park and then Jay Cooke, Banning, and State Parks on the way back south/home.
Anything going on in Superior, Wisconsin? Places to see? It'd be cool to see a sunrise through the arch bridges of Duluth/Superior area. Festivals? Hippie grocery stores/ aka. CO-OPs? any places for GREAT pancakes. not just average, but high quality pancakes with good syrup?
Anyone?
I am pretty good with the Minnesota side, but WI has all those horizontal traffic lights....
peace,
j
