i own it, so very good...

my point is that hip-hop is certainly not an accurate representation of the black community.
that's like saying all white folks worship the devil based on the themes of black metal tracks.
additionally, i don't feel that hip-hop is necessarily the level to which we should be holding society.
- mrdobolina0
the whole fact that is was even brought up brings about an outcome of blaming black folks for what imus said.
ya get meh?
- blaw0
yes, sir. that is what bothers me the most about this... so many 'ordinary' voices saying what i consider to be racist shit and not thinking twice.
for the record, i like both hip-hop and black metal. i just don't think my entertainment is necessarily a shining beacon of western society. :)
- mrdobolina0
no doubt slayer and the geto boys together is something else.

I think the attack on Imus was very closely calculated. He is, as we have said, low hanging fruit.I think it is safe to say that the civil rights war isnt over. More to come soon I think.

on a lighter note. i know now that rutgers has a famale b-ball team, and won a tournament. as if that matters.. which it dont. cause womens basketball is a bad sport product. mostly cause men play it way better. but if the ladies can get a scholarship out of it. what the hell.
- mrdobolina0
I just donated $1,000 to the rutgers nappy headed ho scholarship.

(Apr 11 07, 17:46)this proves my point that the hip hop community is a counter culture...and is further illustrated in the remarks made by snoop dog today
"Rappers are not talking about no collegiate basketball girls who have made it to the next level in education and sports. We're talking about ho's that's in the 'hood that ain't doing sh--, that's trying to get a n---a for his money. These are two separate things. First of all, we ain't no old-ass white men that sit up on MSNBC going hard on black girls. We are rappers that have these songs coming from our minds and our souls that are relevant to what we feel. I will not let them mutha----as say we in the same league as him."
...and for the record I never said hip hop was black people music...last time I checked eminem was white and so is a large part of the hip hop fan base

rap music has nothing to do with don imus.

Yes, yes, dude. What are missing is the fact that this country is the only place the combination could have happened. The influences, social climate, and other factors are SO unique, as to have fostered it.
harlequino
(Apr 11 07, 16:49)the same can be said about abstract expressionisim...which was the first american movement to be recognized by the rest of the world
so exactly what was your original point except that you had no point
- mrdobolina0
chainsaw ice sculpture is a unique american artform. also I think ice was invented here ;)
- Jaline0
harlequino and blaw have said eveyrthing I would've liked to have said.
- pavlovs_dog0
you have to be kidding...
hip hop dominates amreican pop culture... nba, nfl, mtv it's EVERYWHERE.
imus was trying to imaate the lingo of this pop culture... in context he wasn't trying to inslut these girls, he was trying to say they're allen iverson kinda hard.
ignorant, unfunny, but racist?
really?
like shaprton should have the right to censor him forever?
cause that's what's happening...
- craigily0
i think he should be punished but man the media could talk about something else already
- pavlovs_dog0
ah.. county music, it really is about the lyrics.
