Hopefully someone can answer this:
I bought Runaways Vol 1-3 (paperback), which seem to encompass a single storyline. Now, I can get all of the other paperbacks, but I'd rather get the hardcovers... except all of the different Volume and Issue numbers confuse the hell out of me.
If I pick up the hardcover collections of volume 2 and 3, I'm not missing anything, right?
- PB, 1-3 = V.1, 01-18.
HC, 2-3 = V.2, 01-24.
So no, you'll be missing nothing. :D******** - You may want to pick up Paperback 8, as that is V.2 issues 25-30 which completes volume 2.********
- Volume 3, Issue 01 just came out last week.********
- Runaways is the fucking best!********
- Good point, haha.********

This note was meant for above (at #4), haha.********

Who's excited about the Watchman movie coming out?
- Movies aren't comic books, you're in the wrong thread.
Doy.i_monk - It is fairly related....timfraserbrown

After five and a half years of being together I've finally got my girl reading comics and graphic novels. I would say most of the kudos has to go to Christopher Nolan for his two Batman films which made he want to read Dark Knight Returns, but also the trailer for the Watchmen film and she is currently reading the book. So it'll be the Dark Knight next.
So what after that? I've suggested she reads a bit more Alan Moore - V for Vendetta and From Hell. I'm also thinking she might like the Girls series. Maybe some Powers books or something quite serious like Maus.
But what do you lot reckon? Suggestions for a reading list for a comic sceptic who is just coming round to seeing the light.

i suggest to figure is if she is interested in character development or in the story before you want to just give her the titles you love.
there is a lot of great independent books out there with amazing writing but with crappy art.
why not give her a tour of your local shop and let her speak to the sales people there and see what she likes.
its great you made 1 chick in the werld get into books and i applaud you for your 5 years of begging and prodding and look at you now!!!
haha
i suggest any spider-man title in the ultimate universe, i suggest westerns from europe, and anything steve mcniven illustrates.

I remember when this girl in high school saw one of my comic books laying around and started reading it when I was in the shower and I came in and she had rolled it up while she was reading it.
I went fucking ballistic, hahahah.
