What is a good Capt America trade for someone who has never read him before. I like how his character looks dark now.
- Redmond0
The best trade is none of them.

The latest run of Captain America is really good - its at issue 32 or so now.
I'm sure there are trades for the full run - its been written by one guy for the entire series, Ed Brubaker, and most of his stuff is excellent.

Still waiting for volume 1 of "Runaways". Looks like it will take a few more weeks to ship out...

- have to say,
that batman series totally ruined batmans image...tank02 - true, tank, but it also made it legendary. because it's so bad that it's funny, making it memorable.Jaline
- jup true, but being a batman fan it hurts...look at the drawn on eyebrows!!!tank02
- I ... loved this series so much, haha. They had 24 hours of Batman on FX and I bought mad VHS tapes to get everything...********
- .... And I would run from the hockey game we played all day to switch tapes. True story, King Tut was a villain just for the show!********

So what's the most valuable comic book you guys own?
I don't have anything that old, but I have Spectacular Spiderman 1, Wolverine Mini Series (Frank Miller) 1 and Spawn 1.

I had a slew of the early Fantastic Four ... but that's a sore subject, haha.
I guess I have the complete Clone Saga with Ben Reilly though? I know eddE loves Gwen from the origin point, haha (so do I).

I have Spawn 1-5. I am not sure if they are very valuable. I also have a stack of Superman from the late 60s-early 70s. I need to get a price guide.

I just ordered:
Civil War: Amazing Spider-Man
Civil War: Wolverine
Iron Man Vol. 1: Extremis
Civil War: Front Line, Book 1
Civil War: Iron Man
Captain America Vol. 1: Winter Soldier, Book OneThey all look good. I'm looking forward to checking them out.
I was kind of dissapointed with the latest issue of the New Avengers. There was really nothing it in related to that cool Venom /Wolverine cover. I was suprised that they are drawn pretty sketchy. Not bad though.

i have a lot of books, some are worth a lot while other are only worth something to me. i dont hold the same feeling i used to about the value of my books now since i had lost a lot of my books to a flood that ravaged my basement and killed a great portion of my books to nothing... i had complete series of titles... from #1 to present... nowi just buy tyhem fold them up and put them in my back pocket til i get time to read em, i dont care if they get damaged anymore either since i just read em...

I can see how something like that would completely discourage a person from keeping their stuff in mint condition. Sucks, but it also reveals what is actually important in life.
At the same time, I like keeping everything in a good condition. I'm into organizing and preserving things.
- yeh i was, everything was sealed in acid free mylar and boarded, but thats dead.edd-e

Anyone else check out Proof by Oni Press? Pretty good so far. Government Agency for diplomacy with supernatural creatures. BigFoot's an agent. Along the same lines, there's a book hitting stands next month called Spooks, about a military vs. monster conflict, with Larry Hama (from the old GI Joe Marvel comics) writing the story.

edd-e, that is a cool attitude to have. It's more fun if you're not worrying about your comics and barely touching them. I think it's in the back of the latest New Avengers where they ask the artists what they do with their comics. Most said they just give them away or keep them without bags or backs.

every wednesday since that is book release day, i read my books on the subwy on the way home, and every time i look for a kid who is sitting on the train and i stand right in front of the kid reading my book, and every few seconds i look at the kid looking up to see if he is reading the book i have flipped on the other side, well when my stop comes along, i always give the kid the book i am reading.
i do this in hopes that the kid will become an avid comic book reader because of the kindness he received on the train from a stranger who gave him his first book.
:)

I've got a mix of both... there's comics I'll bag and board (like my old 80s X-Men and some rare stuff... But most of it just goes into longboxes.
