...adjust easily.
I've always been able to sleep to 7.30. While I don't particulary enjoy it as a hardcore insomniac, it's still been managable.
But re-arrangements in my schedule is forcing me to be at work around 8 am for morning meetings with the new people, which means I have to get up at 6. Today was the first time.
This is killing me, literally. I feel nauseous and dead inside.
Has anyone successfully switched from being a night owl to a morning person? I would seriously give anything to become one.
End rant.

for a period my day started at 5.30-6am am (big project with demanding deadlines). Although i didnt quite enjoy getting up at that time to start with after a while I realised it was the best part of the day and even tho i dont get up at that time now ( I rise at 6.30) I still enjoy it and would rather get to bed early to make the use of this time - this includes the weekends.
i wouldnt have enjoyed it when i was younger but im no spring chicken anymore :(

jox...
re-arrrange your bedroom furnature...it will allieviate your functshuwai and give you a new balance on your sleeping habbits...

Put your alarm clock out of reach so you have to get out of bed to switch it off.
Then jump in the shower immediately.
Over time, you'll do it without thinking.

Thanks guys. I'll try re-arranging the bedroom :)
The most annoying part is that I get worked up during the evening knowing that I HAVE TO fall asleep, and it becomes a vicious circle, because that REALLY keeps me awake. I've tried a bunch of sleeping pills, but it's only a solution to the falling alseep part. All of them made me even more tired the day after, worse than if I hadn't slept at all.
And I look like a wreck by the way. My eyes are red like tomatos and bags hang by my mouth.
- jox0
thanks monoboy, I have that already. I even have the cellphone alarm as well, 5 minutes later ringing on the other side of the room.
But I have no problem actually getting up because it's important that I attend these meetings, it's just that I am so tired I can't think when I'm actually IN the meeting.

you may want to try and find some melatonin. it's not available for sale here in the uk, but i bring it over from the states whenever i get a chance. it's a natural seratonin thingmie that just makes you drowsy. a couple of those and a chamomile tea before bedtime usually gets me in the mood to sleep. sleeping pills are just like smoking a huge bifta before bed, you feel wrecked all the next day, but these little melatonins seem to do the trick.
hey, america! send joxie some all-natural sleep aids!
- jox0
Para, that sounds like a gift from god! All natural, too. I will most definitely try to score some!!

I have a tightly wound internal clock, up at 6:30 - 7 every day unless I've really tied one on the night before... generally in bed by 1:30 - 2am... Try as I may, I can't break the habit which started about 11 years ago, back when I worked at a lumber yard and having to be at work at 7am...
it's great now though, my office is a 10min walk from my flat, so I have a lot of time in the morning to do whatever, roll around with my girl for while, do some work, light yoga or just sit and read...

i wish i could have your schedule, snuggs. i have to have 8-9 hours a night or i just can't function. i'd love to be able to be a sane, healthy, contributing member of society on 5-6...
