Shawn and Ed both make a cameo in "Land of the Dead," in which they are both zombies now and are being used in a gladiator style zobie dog fight in an arena.

shawn of the dead is classic!
not to keen on hot fuzz tho, bit of a let down :(
- ian0
Yeah shawn is brilliant but I dont know what they could do with a sequel unless it went the high action hot fuzz route.
I quite liked hot fuzz, sure it wasn't as good as shawn but it was still really funny and beats the crap out of a lot of so called comedies Ive seen recently.

i like teh word "fuzz"

I bet there is going to be a lot of titties in this version.
In my opinion we didn't need a fucking sequel to a great movie like 28 days later.

I liked it.
gripping flick,
not AS good as 28 days but that's a v hard act to follow.and Imogen Poots is beautiful.

1st world problem: I am angry at Movies!

let's get mad at america because the same producers as 28 days later (boyle and garland), a spanish director and writer, and robbie carlyle (brit star) made this sequel.
never mind all that, it's america's fault nonetheless.

Saw this last night, really good! Filmed similarly to 28 Days and just as good!
Leaves it open for '28 Months Later'

haven't read the whole thread, nor have i seen the film yet.
however, i was under the impression that both the cliche of the cult horror sequel going hollywood and the u.s. military invasion were meant as metaphors (albeit rather undelicate) for current political climate, etc...

what sputnik and harlequino said, basically...

who's blaming 'America' for anything? Does Hollywood really define America?. Its not about nationalities, its about smaller films from the outside (however arguably) being opted in to the Industry Franchise thing. Its the same rant you'll get when they remake Cache and what not, and the same rant when they do the third Nightwatch film in the states, with Sony or whoever breathing down their necks.
"Hollywood" is responsible for City of Angels, I wouldn't dream of blaming every American for that, that would be unfair ;)
- kelpie0
its ok para, he's a big faced ponce.

It's gettin good reviews though, haven't seen it myself yet, but I think their trying to do what Aliens did for Alien.

Don't matter what anyone says. I loved the first one and I'm still gonna go see this one. Even if it sucks ass, it still has zombies in it and that still makes it better than anything with Ben affleck in it
Except Smokin aces, but that gets special treatment. And Mall Rats.
Shit.
- de4k0
it ain't a zombie flick.
zombie's are essentially dead.28 days/weeks is about the infected living.

Saw it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I thought it still smelled indie and British and still had its quiet 'European', existential moments (the numerous lingering pans over empty vistas). It handled the whole American-aspect brilliantly (who else would you expect to run the country after we've destroyed it?).
My only complaints would be a couple of illogical leaps (as required, I guess) and coincidences and one scene* which could've been beautiful, but wasn't quite.
Basically - it's a gorier 28 days with a bigger budget, bigger explosions and ever-so-slightly Hollywoodised sheen, but in no bad way.
* slight spoiler ahead..
the scene where they put the civilians in the basement could have been a beautiful sustained gore shot - horror's coup de grace - if they'd just dealt with the wave a bit better. That was supposed to be 15000 people, trapped like stricken rodents in a bucket of pure evil - instead it was a bit comic book, a bit frame by frame. Still - good stuff.
Oh, and Robert Carlyle as a panicked coward? Brilliant.
