I want to snail mail my friend something totally odd to her office.
I was going to do a king crab leg but we already someone brought this up in conversation.
I was thinking maybe a slew of gerbil supplies, 1lb bag of cage bottom stuff, a wheel, and an assortment of toys.
any very odd suggestions?

If you can still hijack companies' freepost mailers in the States, I'd try mailing her some lumber or bricks or something.

back in the day we got into a prank war with our neighbors across the street and would sign each other up for more information on craftmatic adjustable beds, rascal scooters.. and one time we were watching this evangelist show and we signed them up to receive a free vile of holy water and a jesus video

You could fake some money-off vouchers for Walmart, or somewhere right out of town, the sort of thing she'd have to redeem AFTER she's walked all around, picking bits'n'pieces from around the store.
That's probably more just- annoying than funny though.

an ex-girlfriend once sent me her old phone - it was one of those neon ones that flashed when it rang - it was all dirty and shit. I was looking over my shoulder for a month.

I read an article a long time ago about some guys who mailed all sorts of odd things - unpackaged, to see if it would actually mail.
Items included:
A water ski
A whole fish wrapped and taped in newspaper
A turtle shell
Scuba flippers

My parents once mailed me a coconut from Maui, pretty cool to get that in the mail.
Basically, you should try and mail something without packaging, so that when she gets it it's just right there in her face, no need to unwrap.
