What an f'ed up product line...
i thought the whole point of the "creative Suite was to unify the product...
now they have design premium and design standard in addition to Photoshop CS3 now they have an Photoshop "CS3 Extended"WTF??

I agree jonny, seems pretty segmented. I hope they don't make it difficult to exchange files like they have done in the past with indesign CS1 and 2.
Also looks pretty processor heavy to me.

I just love having to completely relearn illy also... photoshop i can adapt to fairly easily but they've made some really significant changes to illy that will alter the way a lot of people work.... why could'nt they just make the path tool work more like the photoshop path tool... it looks like people who use flash will be wetting themselve for their upgrade.

jonny... with so many people owning PC's these days - there's lots of online services for 'photo-fun for the average photographer' such as flickr etc etc...
... thus adobe released that 'PS Elements' bit a while back... and I get the feeling that they're trying to embrace a much larger market than just the 'creative professional' now.

"i dont see no fucken videos"
you have to go to each specific program page and toggle what viseos you'd like to see

fair enough but why have a cs3 and a cs extended why not just have a cs3 be the default high end application as it had been in the past? don't get me worng i am all for change but i don't get the logic of two Photoshop CS3's

it is confusing... I agree, JQ... I need to look closer at the options between all the diff. versions to really understand it before I talk about it...
*slaps self for interjecting un-researched ideas

(Mar 27 07, 14:32)I just have the print perspective and I see an impending production nightmare... I am sure some web people have a different take on the upgrade...
I think everyone should get the new CS3 classroom in a book bundled with this purchase.

sounds to me like illy has borrowed some stuff from freehand.. whats ps enhanced?
- jonnyquest0

(Mar 27 07, 14:58)I am still trying to wrap my mind around that...

photoshop cs3 extended has 3d editing capabilities and video editing tools whereas photoshop cs3 does not

Import PSD and AI Files right into Flash? That's not really a new feature but they say it is. The old Flash drawing tool was good too.

as long as its running sweet on my intel mac i dont a fuck
hook it up!
- forcetwelve0
dripfeed. we dont even need it.
- urban100
the adobe/macromedia merger will definitely result in having to relearn the apps, esp flash since it appears to have an interface more like the adobe products. nevertheless, the new versions look awesome and if it runs much better than cs2 on my mac then i'm all about it!
- kern_0
does the educational version lack any features?
- urban100
info on the education licensing:
