That's just it, it's not a logical inference from evidence. It's purely a belief you have that an immaterial prime mover created everything. There's no evidence supporting that.
You ignore the radiometric dating of the Earth. Which just so happens to demolish your creationist beliefs on the origins of the planet. You'd dodged this yesterday by claiming the Bible was being "poetic" when it clearly isn't.

Mimio: allow me to respond item by item...
First, it most certainly is an inference from the evidence; The Big Bang, Cellular Machinery, Cosmological Constants, Specified Code (DNA), etc... the list goes on. All of these things give a shrill cry of a powerful designing intelligence behind life.
I do not ignore the readiometric dating of the earth (even as inconsistant as it is). I've said many times that I accept the appearance of age to be actual instead of illusory. So, nothing "demolishes" my beliefs on the origin of the planet. The Framework (poetic) interpretation of Genesis has been around all along and has always been recognized as a legitimate view of Genesis. Finally, you completely ignore the evidence presented by YEC's which I still believe presents a compelling case for that position.
At the end of the day, the empirical evidence with regard to the when & how of the earth, solar system, etc... remains conflicting.

science has nothing to do with the bible, kid.

OMG this is like homework...
..can't we just call each other idiots like Jevad?
- flagellum0
Actually it does, mrdobolina. If you did your history you'd know that most of modern science's visionaries and pioneers were devout theists.
Isaac Newton
Gregor Mendel
Francis Bacon
Galileo Galilei
Blaise Pascal...and so on.

what science has come out of the bible though?
I bet half of the scientists on the planet have seen an issue of Hustler magazine too, what the fuck does that prove?
Science has nothing to do with the bible.

There have been blood diseases diagnosed in the Bible, wine was demonstrated to aid in stomach ailments, biogenesis is demonstrated (life only comes from life), and "the Mosaic regulations pertaining to childbirth, sexual relationships, hand-washing, wound and discharge care, quarantining, burial precautions, and waste disposal are examples which indicate that diseases are communicable, and that the best protection against them is to prevent their spread. "

want to keep going down this avenue ,mrdobs?
- mrdobolina0
before the bible none of this was known?
you're a clown, yeah let's go down this avenue or whatever you smug prick.
- flagellum0
you're being too nasty.
and waisting my time.
so, no.

your pious attitude gives christians a bad name.
I have told you a million times I have no problem with religious people. I have many friends and family members who are quite religious and I don't have a problem with it.
Faith is a personal thing for them.
Faith is a public thing for you and you are a smug dick about it. I don't think the J-man would like that very much.

mrdobolina: this is just a website. Lots of nameless, faceless people come and go. I think you need to get outside and not take it so seriously.
Secondly, I'm plenty respectful to people who I believe are honestly and objectively searching. You are not, you've made this clear many times.
Finally, if one is truly a Christian, then faith is never just a personal thing. We are comissioned by Jesus to go into all the world and spread the good news. Even be willing to die for it. The only personal aspect of it is the relationship between the believer and Christ.

joust dropping in to say what up fellas , as you were.

I will tell my 68 year old Aunt that she isn't a true christian because she doesn't jam it down people's throats. I think she may disagree with you.
- flagellum0
I didn't say jam it down anybody's throat. I said the Bible teaches that all Christians are to lovingly share the good news of Jesus with the world.
If your aunt is capable, she is called to share the love she's found. Don't argue with me about it, take it up with the New Testament.
- mrdobolina0
Wow, I never heard of jesus before! Can you tell me about it everyday for the next three fucking years please?
kthxbye!
- flagellum0
The good news of Jesus is:
- God created you and loves you more than you can comprehend.
- but you are a sinner by nature and by choice
- God is holy and must seperate himself from sin so you are seperated from him.
- The Good News is that God has made a provision for your sin in the death and ressurection of his son. The Bible teaches us that if we confess our sin to him and receive his provision in Jesus as a free gift, we will have eternal life and abundant life here.

Many people have never heard this message.
- mrdobolina0
but we all have, so your work is done here.
mostly I hear this from crazy street people hanging outside of malls downtown, looking for money.

(Mar 23 07, 10:43)Ever heard of the anthropic principle? Perhaps you disagree that we are a result or product of this universe? This is also goes to further my point. You commonly inject God(ID) into points of ignorance or gaps in knowledge. That absense of understanding is not evidence that you can cite in support of your beliefs.

On a side note, It's amusing how you claim the bible gave people the kidea to drink wine in aid of an upset stomach. Sanitation, medical civics etc. all those things mentioned were advents that preceeded the authorship of the Bible.
