Pa... leeeeeease....
at the end of the day - nobody is holding a big mac to my mouth and forcing it in...
... you have this thing built in to you - it's called 'free will'... it can be a dangerous thing w/out another fine trait that unfortunately isn't as cultured as much as 'selfishness'...
.. that trait I'm talking about is 'self control'.
The TV commercial does what it's supposed to... sells food - specifically to those who WILL EAT IT. Just like Spike TV commercials sell to horny action-minded men...
... you make it sound like 'minorities' don't even have a choice.
Show some personal responsibility and don't make a habit out of pigging out on garbage... even 'minorities' who are 'targets' via advertising can't be THAT DUMB, Point5.
The flip-side of advertising is just as massive as the McD's type (fast-food) advertising...
...you can't tell me that those 'minorities' aren't as inundated w/Bo-Flex / Diet Pill / Health / Diet Food type commercials as they are w/the fast food shit... cuz they are.
I don't need to go visit Vegas (LoL)... I've lived in a number of major U.S. cities and watch the same fucking tv stations as the 'minorities' as you call them...
... people need to accept responsibility for their own decisions.

i feel bad because a lot of people don't know about proper nutrition, especially when it comes to feeding their children, that's why you see stuff like this being sold:
http://www.kidcuisine.com/pages/…
this is why there is so much obesity, and cancer, and many other preventable diseases. though you and i may know what proper nutrition is, a LOT of people out there just don't and corporations prey on them. they are just as bad as tobacco companies.

fuck em
tasty is taty and life is too short for me to worry about ferraris queing up at a drive through, or obese idots dying on a mcdonalds diet..
at the end of the day all ou need is common sense..if you dont have it .. chances are ur not gonna make it anyway..
life is too short to live in abstinense. - i agree with jaline, everything is gd in moderation. and its bullshit to single out mcD, the same arguement goes across the board for petrol&SUVs etc.. ill be fucked if i care about the spending habits of fools
- version30
someone once said doctors should teach nutrition and advocate health, not be pill dispensaries. that's pretty pertinent as they took that hippocratic oath and all
that always sounded too much like hypocrite to me anyway

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!You're not responsible for someone else's decision (unless it's your OWN child)... :)
- version30
we'll single out whoever is in the thread title next time too
mcdonalds is horseshit (literally) served to fools
fucky every minivan leaning to the side with a diet coke in hand

There's a Wesley Willis song out there where ol' Wes (R.I.P.) tells us all about the fat comparisons of McDonalds and Burger King etc...
... rather enlightening stuff given that it came from a schizophrenic (oh shit... EVEN HE KNEW IT WAS BAD!!)
hehe... ;)

to get back to the original post... INDEED McD's has the perfect combo of grease, sugar and fat to mop up the 'yuck' in your stomach from a hangover and get it moving toward the exit...
... McD's has worked fine as a stool loosener many-a-times...
... it's also clogged the pipes more times than I can remember too...
- Jaline0
Like people here haven't done things that they know are bad for them.

ok. so we know that fast food is bad for us...
can we move on and tackle some of the world's other, more important problems - ie: discovering the caramilk secret?

Pony, nowhere in my post did I mention anything about minorities.
Personally, I feel as an adult you have every right to go ahead and consume what you want so long as it's not going to directly affect others. I've been obese, and I was lucky enough at age of 13 that I recognized my problem and did something about it through diet and proper exercise. As I've aged, I see that that large corporations prey upon the vulnerability and spending power of young Americans; and it starts with toddlers.
Case in point, when my son was three, I was at a drive thru ATM and from the back seat I hear my son say "Donalds"... I look back and he's pointing through the window across the street to the ol' golden arches. How the fuck did my son know that shit? Because McDonald's is a proud sponsor of Dora The Explorer and all those other "educational" Nick Jr. shows. As a parent who refuses to let his child have that shit on a regular basis, I've taken my son to McD's once in the last 3 years. Like you mentioned, it's my responsibility, and I hope he learns what his body is worth and to not make the ingestion of crap a common practice.
- PonyBoy0
ugh... it was cybrain who mentioned minorities... and that sent me off... not you, Point5... sorry, duder... my bad. :)
As far as your son knowing the arches... they're in my memories of being a kid...
... advertising for McD's hits every demographic from every angle... (they target individual groups - sometimes a group of black people, sometimes a bunch of teenagers hanging out, sometimes a bunch of kids chillin' w/Ronny & that purple fucker... sometimes a Boyscout troop after a molestation session (coming back from a camping trip))...
...
... I was losing my mind about the 'minority' mention because 'being responsible' for one's health isn't anyone's responsibility, but their own ('cept if their kid... :)... then it's the Parent's responsibility to teach their children to act with 'common sense').
