brilliant!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/63…
Blair is in talks with the US regarding the UK possibly playing host to US anti-ballistic missiles part of their star wars program.
Not only has russia said that if this goes ahead it will more than likely trigger a new arms race ... it'll also be another war-tie that the UK has with the USA and make us (and these weapons) even more of a potential target to anti US terrorists.
I reckon that Blair is just jumping on the bandwagon though and doesnt want to see these missiles being hosted in the Czech republic or poland etc and would rather have them than miss out on the opportunity to sook up the US's ass.
Thanks Mr Blair, another great legacy for you to leave behind, yes?

Well you know what you can do about it next election...

vote david cameron?
think ill pass altogether.
- Bottlerocket0
there are other options besides camoron. Not voting voids your right to comment on policy.

rather than using my vote to get someone into government, i'd be using mines to keep someone else out as theres no one that i'd particularly LIKE to see in government.
im surprised the UK populations votes actually COUNT for something, because our general views dont seem to carry any affect with the government.

I think I'll vote Cameron, just to pay less tax. Nothing, but nothing fucks me off than the amount of money I give to those fuckers in charge.

Your 'general' views may not be the views held by other people you share the conutry with, and who may exist be in greater numbers.

-------id like to think that the majority of people in the uk would agree that us not going to war wouldve been a good thing and that lower taxes were a good thing and if the government spent money on the NHS and improving transport and renewable energy resources rather than spending billions on trident missiles.
- Bottlerocket0
You like to think that, but that might not be the case.
An elections is where popular opinion is converted to an actual political expression.
So maybe your views aren't in the majority and large swathes of the country believe differently.

nothing to worry about...
...the star wars defense system has never worked!
- Kuz0
this is not gonna effect the risk of islamist terrorist attacks in Britain any at all.
But it is gonna fundamentally undermine the nuclear equilibrium that has kept tentative global "order" for the last 50 years.
However, with nuclear proliferation ever likely, with every two-bit theifdom with a nuclear capability - is this not just prepareation for an inevitable future?
i dont know, i'm giving up having an opinion...
