just put down a cascade lager. added fresh hops/malt and good yeast. should be a cracker!

A mate and I tried this a year or so back - though could never get rid of that 'home brew' taste.
No matter what kit/recipe we'd try out it always had this certain taste. Kinda like cheap draft beer. Maybe we were doing something wrong?

too much water causes that taste.
when topping up, use a hydrometer to get to the highest recommended specific gravity and stop.

also, you really need to add fresh hops and malt to kt beers ive found. im also starting to add some specialty grains too.
its like a stir fry sauce from the jar - the more fresh ingredients you add the better it turns out.

I don't know how safe this is to drink, I brewed it back in October.
Just opened it... tastes like beer. Actually pretty good.
