funny...no one will notice it but us ... sent the customer service lady to googe and told her what was wrong ... she was like " what ?" and spelled it out loud "G O O G L E "
i should note .. this is the same woman who asked me last week if San Antonio was in Texas... and pronounces 'charcoal' as charco

i guess i was thrown off since they usually have slightly more obvious links to the reference they're making when you click on the logo

Googe, Barnabe, 1540-94, English poet and translator. In 1574 he was sent to Ireland as the representative of Sir William Cecil, Queen Elizabeth I's secretary of state. From 1582 to 1585 he was provost marshal of the presidency court at Connacht. Googe's Ecologues, Epitaphs, and Sonnets (1563) contains some of the earliest examples of English pastoral poetry. He also translated some contemporary Latin works into English.

if that's intentional, it's just terribly and embarrassingly awful the way they went about the execution
it's a design basic that if something could be perceived in any way as a mistake, it needs to be fixed up.
I'm holding on to the theory that they just plain forgot the L in all of their chocolatification.

(Feb 14 07, 09:21)if that's what it's supposed to be, it's the saddest attempt i've ever seen

I definitely did not notice either. And I even inspected the chocolate for a while since it looked tasty, haha.

where is the "L"ove!!?
- ross0
i didnt notice.
i wondered if the choclate was supposed to be the shape of a heart, then wondered why they didnt use a couple ball gags or some whips. Then googe'd myself for like 5 hours, then thought that the second "o" was probably ticked off for getting splashed with chocolate.
I think that must be a mistake.
or poorly done, cause it dont read "google".

Thinking about the google logo
The Google logo is successful branding by repetiton. It could have really been anything. The fact that so many people visit the site everyday and all they see is the logo and an entry field. You can't help but see it a few times a day. I can't think of any other logo I see more on a consistent daily basis. I see the apple logo everyday but only once when I start up my machine.
I personally dont like the logo but I think it serves them well. It is a little naive looking but that helps them seems friendly and small, even though they pretty much control the whole world. If they rebranded now everyone would think they had sold out and may end up resenting them.
PS I always thought it was funny that if you split the word google you get 'go ogle'. It's almost like they're willing you to look at porn!
