there are a lot of new loft building going up in williamsburg and greenpoint area. though if i am buying, i wouldn't wanna buy in greenpoint(polluted land). i feel like dumbo is still sketchy late at night or maybe it just look that way with all the industrial building.

dumbo is cool for lots of people living in a huge loft at once, but yes its sketchy at night and is far from life meaning supermarkets and transportation and just life in general...but space in where you live in larger and more cusomisable than most other residentail places to live in nyc.
greenpoint williamsburg has transportation issues that just gets plain annoying. the L train is constantly having issues and if you live in greenpoint its a bus to a train to a train and reality yyou only live 7 minutes away from manhattan but it take s 45 minutes to get there??? wack!!!!
go deeper into brooklyn, get a nicer area to live in, gget something with a library in the neighborhood...and more than only 1 option for transportation.
whats your budget like?

you getting that place you told me about, eddie?

Im looking to pay 500-700. Sort of laughable but Im paying 500 now for loft space. Worth the sacrifices by far.
Anyone have contacts for the Greenpoint or Dumbo Lofts? Even a friends email?

I was in a really nice apt in a warehouse in dumbo at the weekend. Not zoned for housing so when the fire dpt comes round everyone has to hide.
But, a massive space, used to be artitst studios. Not all that cheap though.

I've heard of this place called mcgibbons lofts in bushwick/williamsburg
lots of musicians and artists.I just moved to "east williamsburg" and i use that term loosely, because i am 20steps from the bushwick border, i feel safe and i'm white as hell i grew up in long island.
and Lastly, there is a place in park slope, 225 18th street between 5th and 6th that my friend used to live in, some of the lofts are gorgeous and some are crap but they are big. It's above the Mad Arts center, maybe you can call them for info.

I live in the McKibben lofts now. You can get away with anything here. Its pretty great. But I need a smaller loft and there arent many opening up.
Ill have to check out the Park Slope place.
