Time can have neither beginning nor end. Every moment is both the end of an era and the start of something new; every event is both the outcome of something and the cause of something else.

Magic is a state of mind. It is often portrayed as very black and gothic, and that is because certain practitioners played that up for a sense of power and prestige. That is a disservice. Magic is very colorful. Of this, I am sure.

Responsibility to yourself means refusing to let others do your thinking, talking, and naming for you; it means learning to respect and use your own brains and instincts; hence, grappling with hard work.

"The man must be out of his normal mind who can burn in stoves this beauty, destroy what we cannot create again. Man is endowed with reason and creative power to increase what has been given him, but until now he has not created, only destroyed. There are fewer and fewer forests, the rivers are drying up, the wild creatures are becoming extinct, the climate is being ruined, and every day the earth is getting poorer and uglier. [...] I feel that I'm eccentric, I'm different from everybody else. When I begin talking about something earnestly [...] I can see by the expression in their eyes that they find me peculiar."

The mistakes of leaders are amplified by those who follow them without question. Charismatic leaders tend to build up followings which become power structures. Those power structures tend to be taken over by people who are corruptible. I don't think that the old saw about absolute power corrupting absolutely is accurate. I think power attracts the corruptible.
