so it seems pointless and trite.

(Jan 30 07, 09:12)I agree.

1) I don't need the test as i have my own company.
2) Your attitude wouldn't get you the job, and if you don't understand that, then i prove my point.

and 3) If i was sitting for the test I wouldn't turn up with some comps... it not 1997
- F_180
you're points (or lack thereof) prove mine.
1) congratulations on having your own company, which has nothing to do with anything we're talking about.
2) they wouldn't know anything about my personality, because they wouldn't have met me until i took their "test."
3) comps is exactly what they want, and you do them on your own time, not in some "design testing facility."
are you mad because they didn't offer you the "test" when you applied?

Actually, I did their test, got an interview. Let's clear up some mis-information here.
1) They tell you they won't use it for anything or show it to anyone.
2) Your overstate your importance or outright fake things in your book/resume. This lets them see what -you- can do. There is an understanding that you only have a couple days to work on it, and that it won't be perfect.
3) While your interview discusses your book as a whole, it centers on what you did on your test, and why.
4) You may never have had the opportunity to do something in the 'FI Style' - this is a chance to see if you can figure out some of it on your own.
Honestly, it was the single most aggressive interview I've ever been on - they don't hold back. Was that a good thing? I dunno.

"1) congratulations on having your own company, which has nothing to do with anything we're talking about."
Hahahah!

I think FI needs to get over themselves. They're work isn't that great.

the reason i put that is because i'm not going to interview with them, and I'm not putting them down, they're one of the best in the industry...
If I was going to interview there, I wouldn't hesitate to take the test.

I just want to point out, that sometimes when companies are trying to hire en mass it's just because they're growing, not that there is a turn over.
uh... i need to hire 4 people at HUGE, i just hired 3 a month ago. haha.

most companies looks at their portfolio, does interview and hires them via freelance then to full time.
i think this is better then design test.

hey joe, when did huge get the new site?
that's huge, as in the old ceramic dish image site, right? i always dug that company for some reason, though I don't think I could name a piece of work they've done. weird.
good at any rate to see you guys still going.
- joestewart0
Enjine,
New site has been up for a few months - yes, the plate was ours.=)
We're glad to still be going.

it looks like huge got good things going. i was pretty impressed by their presentation and how they strategically approached each project.
people their seemed very laid back and nice.
