I may or may not se it, may or may not like it, it may or may not be a chick flick

That's gotta be the best car chase scene ever, even better than Ronin's.

that's putting the bar pretty high. sounds good.

saw it last night...loved it! not necessarily because the movies themselves were all that great, but because it was refreshing to finally see something so different in the theaters for a change.
literally, everything about it was just fun. i loved the campiness of it, from the missing reels and fake trailers to kurt russel grinning at the camera before starting the chase. just awesome!
oh, and i disagree about deathproof being a chick flick. just because it's empowering towards women (and a little slow at the beginning) doesn't make it a chick flick!

I think i meant Dusk til dawn, not dawn of the dead. . .

I've read where people are already saying that it's a 70 mil bomb, but don't all B-movies flop at the theaters? I actually think it's a sign of success.

Eli Roth's trailer was hilarious.

(Apr 9 07, 09:01)You're right about connecting the empowering of women with "chick flick".
The term "chick flick" has negative connotations.
Equated with "dick flick":
http://www.urbandictionary.com/d…Anyway, I'll stop talking about this since I haven't seen the film yet.
Everyone is probably mis-using the term "chick flick".

(Apr 9 07, 08:58)right on...the ronin chase is excellent.
- blaw0
that is absolutely my favorite car chase scene.
how long does that last, like 10-15mins? something like that. so good.

I went to the Austin Premiere and I loved it. If you grew up going to a Grind House then you will like it. If you don't get it don't go

dunno how long blaw, but it's really amazing stunt driving...love it. the only driving i like better is in the bmw films:

death proof: not a chick flick.
female empowerment flick? maybe.
but if a chick flick ever contained the unholy death of 5 hotties, i had never been to one of those before
zoe is a badass on that hood, no question
again, far from a chick flick
- dopepope0
Kurt Russle was great in that part. He was so funny towards the end.
- Jaline0
I don't think he's been successful with "reviving" careers though. He's definitely given them more stories in the news.
- Meeklo0
I haven't seen it, but the directors, actors, and many viewers are saying that it's leaning towards being a chick flick.
Chick flicks don't necessarily exclude car chases.
Jaline
(Apr 9 07, 08:40)Oh I've seen the movie...
it is far from being a chick flick..car chase was great, but I don't know if it was better than ronin
what was amazing from tha scene, more than the car itself was the girl on top, that was pretty damn impressive..
- Meeklo0
just for the record, I have never experienced a grindhouse in my life, never even heard of it, and I enjoyed, something tells me its not close to the real thing, but is probably as far as I can go.
I agree something different to go see, I stayed till the lights went on waiting for another machete trailer, I want more.
- Meeklo0
Spoiler alert, full machete trailer
not really related to any of the 2 movies
