(Apr 2 07, 06:49)I would have thought they would pull that here in the US. It's very difficult to distribute or book a film that is longer than 2 hours. You can sell as many tickets in one day. That's why 90 minute films make more money. You can show it every two hours.

Americans needs to watch longer films. Or at least deal with ones that are more than 2 hours long. Bollywood films may be too much (they're usually 3-4 hours long), but I prefer films that are 2.5-3.
It depends on the genre and the story, obviously. For example, X-Men 3 was too short.
What you posted makes sense harlequino, you'd think that it'd be difficult to get more people to watch two films in one. I guess we'll see. If people are going to complain about the high prices of theatres then they should give films like this a try.

Yeah it's interesting. When you look into the business of fim distribution and exhibition, it's an ominous industry. This is why studio people and prod. company people wig out when you hand them a script that's more than 120 pages (sort of equal to 120 minutes. Sort of.). More than two hours means less bookings, less theaters who will want to book it, and less profit margin.

I case anyone didn't know, the gunleg chick is ROSE MCGOWAN.
Count me in for sure.
- Jaline0
I like her, except SHE WAS ENGAGED to Marilyn Manson.
Thankfully she realized that the drugs were too much. Like his looks were completely nice or something.

(Apr 2 07, 03:40)Wow I thought I was the only person who felt that way.
- Jaline0
But he hasn't even made that many films....
interesting.
- harlequino0
Kill Bill is the only Tarantino film(s) I have at home. I think he realized that he is what he is. A specific-genre director. "Jackie Brown" didn't work for me because he can't develop the characters the way he hoped. With Kill Bill he was mixing elements westerns with samurai films, and he is really clever at doing that.
- Mimio0
Eh whatever... the most profitable movie in history is 3.5 hours long.
- Jaline0
^ yes, I was recently forced to watch it for class. We're watching Kill Bill too, actually. All for film + music.
- barbtastic0
i'm more of a robert rodriguez kinda gal. tarantino is annoying...
i'll still watch

This is a tough crowd.
I still think Reservoir Dogs is the best directorial debut in the last 20 years.
