Do any of you have those radio transmitter things for your iPods?
I need to get one as a gift for someone but I don't know anything about them. What's the best one to get? Anything specific I should look for?

I bought one for my wife for Christmas. She ran track in college and likes running... for some reason.
I bought this first...

$30 bucks...Then you buy the shoe from Nike. $100.
Got them in the mail Monday night and I let her try it out last night. She loved it.
You can track your progress daily, weekly, monthly... whatever, set goals, the whole nine yards.
She loves it.
I think I might get one too. Maybe it will help me to, ya know... run. I hate to run.

Thanks k0na.
And I should've said this, but I meant car receivers.
Like the one where you tune your FM?

HAHA!
Well you're still in luck. I bought her one of those after some fuckface broke off her car antenna.
I got her the Monster one. It charges her iPod while it plays through her radio. I like it cause you can set up to 3 different stations so if you're traveling someplace and it turns out it's a real station, and that radio signal starts coming through your iPod, you can hit a button and it switches to one of the other two stations.
Some of the others out there only play, they don't charge. It's pretty nice.

This is the one.

Maybe its just where i live, but I've tried several FM transmitters and never had much luck. Always so much static. When i got my new car about a year ago i bought a special cd deck with a line-in for it and its been smooth ever since.
i think fm transmitters really only work well when both the radio and the ipod are going to be stationary.

The radio tuners don't sound good. If the car stereo has an auxilliary input have them run a line from that to the ipod.

i tried several of the tuner things and they all sounded like shit. i finally just broke down and bought this:
http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/pro…works real slick and you can wire it so your ipod sits in your glove box and you can just control it through the deck.
