timeline...this is the 5th or so CS3 thread.
its exciting, but beta

It's kinda jacked so far.
All custom UI elements - they all seem really slow on this G5 (dual 2Ghz)
We'll see how it runs on the Intel Mac . . .
Found one bug already - but not surprising.

some guys are playing with it here and not faster either.

They say the real release won't be until late spring early summer...

PS CS 3 is coming out sooner than i thought it would? For F**k Sake i'm still running PS 7, which i and my company get along just fine with!
Just because its new...doesn't mean its essential!?
- skelly_b0
it appears to much faster on my Macbook Pro.
First thing I noticed is the new icon is meaningful. Stupid feather never made sense to me.

i tested some filters on a 200mb image
CS3 was about twice as fast compared to CS2 on my Dual G5 with a 4 gigs of ram
I love it! Only bug I found was in Extract with you erase something

It's really cool.
Been testing it for a few minutes.
Much faster on the MBP.
Some really cool stuff in it too. The windows are niiiiiice.

timeline is bullshit
there was only one recent thread before mine and it contained nothing of real interest

if you do download and test it can you post a real world review.... i would love to try it but I can't risk my production machine... if it takes a crap or corrupts my creative suite install that's like losing$$ ...
I am curious about smart filters I've always felt photoshop should be more like illustrator in that you can actually go back to a filter and change it...

I really hope it's faster than CS2 and less buggy soon. I'm downloading it right now but it looks like it's going to take forever.

So far I am loving it. I am sure I will find bugs but some of the simple interface changes are a welcome.
It is running way faster on my Mac Book Pro than CS2.
and ..... they finally merged image ready and photoshop... took them long enough geez.

:z
Mine is going to be another hour. Apparently I live too much into the suburbs to get high speed (seriously) and there's a forest behind my house so maybe that's why. Also, I share my connection with 4 other computers in the house, each belonging to a different member of my family.

I just deal with a lot of agency supplied 100+ layered files that the studios need finishing and color done on so I was hoping some of you layer intensive folks could post some of your experiences before the real release comes out... I fear anything not quite ready for primetime.
- Jaline0
you have another machine you could test it on?

it's still beta, but I tried a 746Mb 80+ layer file I finished up last week and CS3 ate it alive.
Screw the bugs, it's a keeper for me. CS2 crashes couple times a week anyway once you go above 400Mb files
