DSTND. I was with a girl for 3 years and she cheated on me with my best friend. Took me almost a solid year to be fully over her.

(Dec 8 06, 07:13)Still your best friend?

(Dec 8 06, 07:15)There is a long backstory to our friendship before that happened. Don't feel like talking about it.
But no.
At our highschool reunion after 10 years of not speaking to him he broke down in tears from what happened. I forgave him. We talk once in a while.

Write a song of angst, start a band, go on tour, then do what Leigh said.

Hell no, don't go on dates, you're not ready for that. You don't want to be that person that talks about how you and the x did this and that. that's just said, you might end up thinking about the x more.
unless by dates, you mean hookers and a hotel room, then yeah, go for it

(Dec 8 06, 07:18)That sounds pretty intense

it takes your mind off the ex, and the longer you leave it the harder it gets to get back into dating. You start loosing your confidence.
And ALWAYS refer to her as 'The Bitch'.

let off some steam

fair enough, k0na. I was just curious because I'm always interested in knowing this sort of stuff...
- Jaline0
for myself and experiences, I mean.

I think it works to go right back into dating. Just don't be in a commited relationship. Nothing helps more than being able to appreciate someone else.

The best way to get over someone is to find someone better, but then again you don't want to treat someone like a rebound.
- Jaline0
yes, but there may be some baggage there, so you could just end up hurting someone...it all depends on your situation and your personality.

(Dec 8 06, 07:15)similar thing happened to me. we're still best friends and the girl's long gone from both our lives. didn't talk for a year, but shit happens. people change. you get over it.

all really good advice.
the shit that's fucking with me are the pings of thought, that turn your stomach. i can look outside of it all and see it as just animalistic human attachment - and all attachments bring suffering.
so in looking outside of it, it's not that painful.
but then there's that every once in awhile when that objective mind, or the witness
falls back into the story and it all feels so heavy.
so - being a designer - being a bit compulsive - the thoughts cycle - spin up, and revolve...
- joyride0
yeah, i guess i'm just being selfish, if i hear 1 more girl talk about how they had this date with this dude that all he did was talk about his x i'm gonna... well do nothing, but think, stop wasting her time.

us designers tend to be more emotional and sensitive

(Dec 8 06, 07:24)I've had friends go through it too and I'm pretty forgiving, so I think I would eventually get over it too. I just think that the person who "betrayed" you should at least apologize.

i had this conversation yesterday about my theory that women find you more attractive if you are dating someone.
so go out there and pretend you are dating someone already but be super flirtatious.
erase her number from your cellphone so you don't end up getting drunk and calling her. keep her number somewhere else.
