"The more memory your computer has, the more programs you can run simultaneously, and the better performance you get from your computer. Increasing the amount of memory in your MacBook Pro is an easy way to improve performance.
How much memory is right for you?
* Select the standard 2GB option if you plan to use your system regularly for sound design, video editing, DVD authoring, animation, and other intensive tasks.
* Max out your MacBook Pro with 3GB of memory to enjoy the greatest possible performance for all your computing tasks. The MacBook Pro uses one of the fastest memory technologies available today—667 MHz, double data rate (DDR2), synchronous dynamic random-access memory (SDRAM) — ensuring that the Core 2 Duo processor is constantly fed with data without wasting clock cycles."

do you think 4 is worth the extra money?
- version30
in all honesty, i would say 4gb will be good
i have a pc with 4gb ram and i record 2 channels of tv and work (adobe/macromedia) sometimes while listening to itunes
no lags or delays ever even with ff flash and im'ing and such

I wonder if I should wait, since adobe hasn't come out with the new shit anyway
I'm still on a dual g4 800

I once spent $1500 for ONE MEG of ram
- version30
personally starting to hate adobe
illustrator is far below the workflow ease and use of corel but might as well sway the industry to depend on you right adobe?
and all the cs2 releases are shit, pure shit. I reinstalled PS7 and did some batching tests of just resizing and others that had image manipulation and my testing shows ps7 to be about 15-18% faster in regards to 95% of what people are actually using ps for everyday
cs2 is for opening and saving down documents
don't let adobe slow your purchase, they suck on their own

just had 1 gb in my g5 tower and that has run peachy enough.
Don't buy ram from apple! are you mad? its like 20-30% more from them.
- version30
