Still not news.

I have no doubt I have not enough knowledge in this area to even be considered uninformed, but the Frederick Forsyth fan in me says that *if* this is as it appears, you can almost guarantee that it isn't and that people like us will never know any of the clandestine nonsense. Know what I mean?

alright, brushed teeth and had to check this thread again..
maybe this is not news to you blood mongering sensation seekers but on the level of political negotiation and economics this is just another incident in a short period of time, but one that *may* embody all the previous ones.. which makes this pretty serious.
(for those who still don't get it, no i am not talking war)
In short: Russia is acting like a facist nation and so many things proving this are pointing this out. well, this is the evidence right in front of our eyes in the heart of europe.

funny you should mention Forsyth, welded.
Icon comes to mind.

It is for Europeans.

Hey I get Russia flexing it's muscle and being the same ass backwards nation they have been for centuries, but the spy thing is a pimple on the ass of nothing.

I mean who knows who this guy has crossed over the years...not saying that the Russkies didn't do it, just saying there are sooo many possibilities. It's just getting the press cause it's a sexy story and easy to understand versus trying to keep track of the Middle East scorecard on who's blowing up who for whatever reason...
TheBlueOne
(Nov 23 06, 17:52)good grief.
i jsut read your comment. pretty ignorant, blueone.
it is not getting press as it is a sexy story, i have read a few very serious papers' sites (no links as it is dutch) and it is all because of the POSSIBILITY of his recently initiated investigation into Anna's death. Well, that "little incident", which is most likely not much news to you, got some serious press coverage.
but like i said, there is TOO much to it to explain now..
read up about georgia, ukraine, gas, money, russian justice system etc etc..
if you want, you don't have to.
it is news BECAUSE it matters, not the other way around..
it embodies all the previous shit that's been going down between EU and Russia..
THis may bring our relationship to an all new low (or high, depends how you look at it) in terms of diplomacy.
the middle east is same old. terrible, but same old.
what's happening in and around russia is something to keep an eye on as well.

the spy things is nothing on itself i agree.
but it is all about the CONTEXT of what's been going on in the past few months.
And that is bad, really bad.

(Nov 23 06, 18:16)Ha, ya, kind of what I was thinking.
- TheBlueOne0
This spy getting offed is not news, geopolitically speaking. That's all I was saying.
I get the context.
I am not ignorant, and you;d be mistaken to consider me thusly.
Best.

sorry, blueone.
i got annoyed by you jsut saying not news instead of actually attempting to elaborate.
geezz, just back on nt again and already making the mistake of posting a political thread.
goodnight.
i am really going now....zzzzzz..
- TheBlueOne0
Dude, it's Thanksgiving night here..I'm all whacked out on football, red wine and turkey..I couldn't elaborate on anything right now...

Western Europe, especially countries with somewhat imperial past, like the French, German, and Brits have always had a kind of a warm spot for Russian romanticism which they like to flirt with. These kind of incidents are good for reminding people that it is an empire with long history of disrespect for own people's lives by the ones in power. There is an old Russian saying, "у нас мног
... люде
... meaning "we have lots of people" - supposedly a Tzar quote.
During the revolution in early XX century, French communist would voluntarily go to Russia to help build communism. They were instantly jailed, because it was obvious you either had to be a spy or endlessly dumb to go straight into deepest shit.
Apparently, they haven't learnt much since.
I took this picture in Paris this springI am not writing this in order to present Russians as bad guys. Not at all, I just think that western approach to Russia is very often naive. You have to know their rules if you want to play their game. EU, politically, is an artificial, powerless creature and Putin is laughing in Brussel mommy's boys faces.

right on rafal.
ofcourse what happened is not new, but it is in the sense that this is pretty obvious, for each and everyone to see. Add to that the tensions with Georgia etc., the assassination of Anna and so on.
It is good old Russia at work again.
*sigh

This is nasty for sure... Something stinks already though... I think the whole thing is going to some how be covered up now...the doctors are making contradictions... I find it strange that they now dont know what it was that killed him, when last week it was almost a definite toxicity case. In Russia 99 percent of their media is conducted by their government, even their own people dont believe this was endorsed by putin, they might as well be communist again...

Can QBN please delete this thread. There's nothing i said about Russians. Nothing has been proven. They are innocent.
