(Nov 21 06, 13:17)nope!
but only when i answer channelling my dearly departed mimi.
otherwise, it would appear i have succumbed to the mid-atlantic drawl.

(Nov 21 06, 13:41)I only sound American when I'm impersonating a Canadian

say, where are those pics anyway, raf? remember, i get veto power before you post 'em. i got an image to maintain. can't be having any nip slips!
- rafalski0
Hey, para, my boss has no problem believing editing a few pictures can take a week, what's the rush now?
- Rand0

- paraselene0

(Nov 21 06, 14:45)Did you just extend my excuse to stay lazy with the Saturday pics? :)
- paraselene0
no, silly. apples and oranges.

I wish I was the Canadian being impersonated, sipping nipples and such...

I remember that time when para said "eh" at the end of a sentence after claiming that she was from the USA and living in the UK. That's when I realized the truth of all truths.

"North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.
funny. spot on. minnesota.

weird 'cause i thought the people in the movie fargo sounded ridiculous. i know i don't sound like them, but now i'm just confused.

(Nov 21 06, 11:08)yeah. i went to school recently in iowa (2 year ago i guess) and I always heard the accent when i came up to the once frozen tundra.

(Nov 21 06, 11:08)Yaaaah..
One of the times I watched it somebody told me the area's accent had Swedish (or other generally Scandinavian) influences. I have no idea how much truth there was in it.

Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.
hahahahahahahahaahahahahahaaahah...
