people with inferiority complexes abusing their positions to make themselves feel like toughguys.
the kid was a prick, no argument there but it takes a special type of person to taze someone when their life isn't at risk.

I couldn't care what they used dobs as long as the kid didn't get any lasting injuries, tazor, fist, truncheon, door frame my boot heel as long as he fucking shut his hole.

(Nov 16 06, 13:19)ok, the first part... are we talking about cops or politicians now?
the second part. how do you think the cops felt when the crowd kept getting closer and closer? think they feared for their lives? i see it so much. cops are trying to take a guy down in public and he's resisting, then a crowd gathers and the cops get a bit nervous cause they don't know how many people in the crowd could be the persons friends or what not, so they up the ante a notch and mace or taze a guy cause they're outnumbered and want out of the situation fast.
i see that video and there's what, 3 cops, maybe 4 and how many students? could have gotten ugly real fast for the cops cause some kid thinks his rights of being a dumbass are in jeopardy.
i not only support those cops, i think that they were awesome.

a staple gun to the mouth would have been the correct thing to do, but the tazer is a "political weapon" one that when used properly will keep your ass out of trouble and sizzle the nutz of your victim.

my dad is a former policeman. finally left the force 'cause my mom couldn't handle it. i can tell you that he wouldn't have tasered the guy, but he would have dragged his ass down the stairs and thrown him in the back of the squad car while he thought it over for the rest of the day.

I graduated from UCLA last year, and while I was there for four years, there were SEVERAL occasions of late night run-ins at the library involving people who shouldn’t be there. (one homeless person got shot by the police after trying to grab his gun and punch him).
The CSOs (volunteer student security) check ID’s for campus/student protection, this fellow resisted showing his ID and showed a horrible attitude to them. They called the UCPD (UCLA police department) and they tried to handle this fellow accordingly.
Every UCLA student knows that they check IDs late at night at the library to insure it’s UCLA students and not crazy cooks hanging out there. They even have signs posted! This kid was just being a dick.

Thanks for the info enfest. I think it's important for students to be safe either way. I'm one myself and being on campus at weird times can be creepy.

listen to the guy who's pop was a cop. that is the right thing to do.
noone ever said it was easy being a cop.
- mrdobolina0
how about those LA cops that kept smashing that guy in his face the other day, he was down on the ground and saying he couldnt breathe and that cop kept bashing him in his face and choking him?
good cops/bad cops/overzealous cops/cop taking it personal?
It would have to suck being a cop.

There are always people who abuse their power. I think a lot of cops believe that what they do is right and that's why they continue to do it. Being a doctor is different because it's not as dangerous but it's similar for other reasons. Both have an authoritative quality about them and therefore attractive certain types of people.

it would suck being a cop in a bad neighborhood trying to handcuff a guy who is twice the size of you, while a crowd of his pissed off neighbors stand around you cussing you out after the guy you're trying to arrest spit on you. then he won't let you cuff him so you put your knee to his throat, (a pressure point) so he relaxes enough to let you cuff him, which he doesn't and he keeps trying to grab your hand so you hit him, then the crowd gets more pissed, you get more scared. situation elevates.
the video that you're talking about... this is how it should have went.
cop: you're under arrest
dickhead: ok. i fucked up.
cop: *handcuffs, puts in back of car. gives out baseball cards to the kids. everyone goes out for ice cream while the bad guy goes to jail and has butt sex.
but no. he resists and wham, winds up on youtube and is the victim.
ok.

is police brutality a made-up thing?
- e_b_c0
I think they SHOULD have felt like compounding the problem with a fucking tazer was a bad decision. and that next time they run accross a toilet like that kid, they will not unneccissarily grab and then taze the known-to- be-a-little-prick as he is leaving the room, avoiding a potential mob.
god forbid.

(Nov 16 06, 13:40)"yea that would be nice, but back to reality.
Its in LA, hes mexican, and hes dealing with the LAPD. If you are a minority and have had the privilege of dealing with the LAPD or LBPD you know what im talking about.
sad but true. i dont hate on cops hell i wanted to be one my whole life. I just think those guys are to stressed out or something, total dicks. A good cop knows how to take a bad situation and diffuse it, half the time these guys instigate it.
im not sayin nothing, but im just sayin....
- chossy0
dobs we are not talking about any other situation atal other than a kid being a prick in a library, other cops have nothing to do with this discussion.
