I don't why but I'm drawn to the middle right one.

I like the mark of second row left. Kind of a before-after, turning over a new leaf feel.
I don't like the typography though, maybe a friendlier face?

4 or 7

middle row left is my fav...the kerning is inconsistent but not too bad...

Thanks guys, I appreciate your help.
I haven't kerned any of them yet. I'll wait to hear back from the client before I waist time doing that.

Number one and the one directly under it have the best possibilities. Show us some more later..

nr. 4 seems to please me

MIddle row right is the only one that has some concise thought to it, all the rest are just marks.

Mind you, looking at them all, they're a childcare training company right?

concrete please clarify what it is they do. I'm not seeing anything that tells me much about the kind of training they do

for a mark that is so simple (whichever one you go with) I think type will play a bit part.
Maybe have a look at some more unusual faces. Not necessarily odd looking just alternatives to the standard helvetica/futura etcI'm sure Typographica will recommend some. Buy a new face and pass the cost on to the client, plus you get a new addition to your collection.

does that whole 'but a new face and pass the cost on to the client' thing really work? I can count on the fingers of one hand the amount of times in my career that that wouldn't have been considered outside the agreed budgetary constraints, lol :-/

works for me.
If a client wants a nice identity you just sell them the new face.A company like Dalton Maag will even take your illustrator files and add the new face in there (outlined) before you buy so you can show your clients.
We've bought stuff from them before and they're very helpful

4 or 7 are my faves, i like 8 but am not keen on the font... maybe the font from 7 (vag rounded?) with icon from 8?
