"Sin" is a theological term. But it describes a reality. Use whatever term you'd like. We do things which are wrong. We recognize they are wrong. End of story, really.

note, how theBlueOne gets suddenly hostile? Interesting.
I'm not giving anyone a guilt trip. I'm simply pointing out what people aren't comfortable looking at. Their sin. I don't understand your accusation about me being "divorced" from this "wonderful universe". I was born into sin like everyone else.

Me, hostile? Stop lumping me with all the "everyone else" people "born into sin" and maybe I'll stop being hostile.Man, when I have children I am keeping them as far away from your religion as possible.

Merry fucking christmas to you too...

blueOne: when you have children, you'll quickly become a believer in the sin nature. :)
NO!

see. love is in the air!
christmas is here!
CHRIST-MAS... FUCK YEAH!

There are no moral absolutes. History shows us this. At one time it was morally acceptable to stone someone to death for trying to convert you away from The Lord.

Good thing I'll be raising my kids in Japan where I won't have to deal with your fantastic little religion or your "sin".
- flagellum0
Mimio: how in the world does that demonstrate that there are no moral absolutes? Do explain. How in principle is it not wrong to lie, cheat, or kill? Are you willing to follow that to it's logical conclusion? If you say it's ok for you to beat your wife because it helps your stress level, but that's ok because it's acceptable by your personal moral code... who am I then to challenge it?
- flagellum0
blueONe: I have no need for religion. I have need of a savior. And you'll find that your children will still sin in Japan (it's a crazy global thing, this sin issue).
Oh, the Christian "religion" is over there too... my sources tell me.
- TheBlueOne0
See flag - I have no need for a savior. Save me from what? Children's concept for a childrens mind.
I'm reminded of all those guys who get all into Dungeons and Dragons and make up little worlds and all that crap and shit. Christianity is the same nonsense. Religion geeks with their Book and their little fantasy realms.
Bah.

I was educated by Jesuits for 12 years, so you can understand my intellectual rancor at the religion i n particular, and religion in general.
Hell of an education though.

It demonstarates that at any given time in history social and cultural maxims constitute law and morality, not an innate absolute sense of right and wrong. True morality and civil rights are a product of agreed social principles designed to enrich/promote life in the society.

blueOne: sounds like you got a nasty dose of cold, dead religion. Having been raised sort of Catholic, I have seen it many times before.
I have no need for it. I need a personal relationship. Not dead religion.
- mrdobolina0
a personal relationship means you talk to jesus then?
