Like I said earlier - I've been in an evangelical church in the USA for about 17 years. Hadn't heard of Haggard until about a month ago.

(Nov 3 06, 12:05)wanna no why chief, the world doesn't revolve around you.
- mrdobolina0
but these same decent religious people I know could give a shit about what other peoples opinions are of their religion, because religion is a personal thing to them, not something you go on and on about and think everyone should subscribe to.

Christians should follow Jesus.
If they are following Ted Haggard, or any other "celebrity preacher" they are violating the clear teachings of scripture.

mrdobolina: The New Testament is unapologetically clear that Christians are obligated to share their faith. Gospel = Good News. We are instructed to share with other people what Jesus can do in their lives. In a loving and respectful way. Christians are also admonished to defend the faith, again with respect.
I have no use for "religion". I'm interested in a relationship with Jesus Christ, as found in the New Testament. And Jesus said to "let your light shine that all may see...".

BlueOne: I had never heard of the National Association of Evangelicals before today. I'm guessing the majority of my church congregation hasn't either.

The president of THIS organization you never heard of:

You never heard of these guys? You're pulling our leg..

I'm not familiar with any of its past presidents. And I'm guessing there are all manner of evangelical societies, organizations, groups, etc... out there.
Bottom line again: Christians are to follow Christ, not an organization or president of an organization.
- flagellum0
Nope. Sorry.
Want give it another shot?
