SUCKS! Keeps crashing! Guess it's time to make a move to Firefox (2.0 perhaps). I already have done so at work, but Safari has crashed no less than 4 times today.

that ain't normal. safari has always been 99% stable for me.

Ahh I love Safari. While Firefox has a good engine it mixes it with a poor interface and ugly inaccurate (Look like someones drawing of the OS standard controls from memory) controls and crappy font rendering.
Safari forever for me, for its absolutely gorgeous font rendering, great bookmark viewer and its speed.
Of course I've converted it to a unified window style because I hate brushed metal.

Never had a problem with safari, I find it so much quicker on start up and all my BkMk's are in it.

bizarre side note:
gary snyder and i are alumni of the same school.
as is steve jobs.
said school is an all-mac campus and always has been, for reasons of jobs' i.t. funding.
i think this might be why gary snyder and i take care of our macs...

Mac Firefox fucks up kerning, but even Safari does not kern standard fonts like Verdana properly at all times (I mean, small sizes that have smoothing off).
None of those ever happen in Windows, in any browser! Most of Mac fonts (including Lucida Grande) are not optimized for non-smoothed display, how ridiculous is that?
Bad font rendering was my biggest disappointment when I got a mac.
Sometimes when I edit text in Thunderbird or Dreamweaver, the cursor is way off the written letter, that is really annoying.
I hate how OSX cannot display properly a lot of ttf and ot ttf fonts, sometimes even after transtype'ing. I mean, I expected anything but font issues on a mac..To stay on topic, I rarely use Safari because I couldn't figure a simple way to import my FF bookmarks into it.
