this is officially the worst week for collecting from clients:
"Kevin-
I just spoke to *** about your payment owed. Unfortunately our fund are frozen this week (for lack of a better term) while we finalize payment on the *** project. He confirmed with *** that you will be paid next week. I apologize for the delay. Obviously this is not the norm for us, but I do understand that we cannot satisfy any accounts payable until this deal funds this week."

that's balls.
there's a dude that told me 6 weeks ago that he'd pay me in 3 "FOR SURE".
I had waited 3 months up until that point.
Thing is: it was his client i did work for and out of consideration for the guy, billed it through HIS company. He's been paid for the job by the client already, and is essentially using the money he owes ME as a fucking LOAN.
Makes me ill.
I own the copyright to the site, and it's basically "t-minus" until I put a "*company* HAS NOT PAID THEIR BILL" up

T-minus...... tomorrow? do it! DO IT!

Why don't you freeze free credit this week, obviously charging a late fee of 25% a day isn't the norm for you but they'll understand I'm sure ...
- designerror0
mouthfuck the bastards with your keyboard. then freeze all work you have done for them 2 weeks after they payed.
- myobie0
start charing a late fee
i always have a late fee agreement up front now a days
i hate to do it, cause it seems petty, until something like this happens...then i remember why
