what a letdown.
what do you mean liquid?are they going to automatically steal the discount from you unless you call them?
what the fuck is mediatemple up to lately?
- liquid0
no man...... look at the jpg..... you keep your discount but only at the same rate....if you have gs lite......at your current price you get some advantages of the gs system.... but if you want to upgrade to gs regular you have to pay the $20 a month....
I am just guessing if you should call them.... I always say call maybe they might hook you up......
I was looking at the kids screenshot......
- liquid0
btw.....now I see where you confusion set in from what I said...
I was looking at the kids jpg above.....if he stays on lite then he keeps his discount.... if he goes from lite to standard it goes up to $20....

still i think it is lame of mt to not mention this beforehand.
not very nice to clients imho.
- liquid0
well I just think they need more information...they will sort it out ....they always do....
I still don't understand how they are gonna compete with dreamhost with price....
I mean clients may not get the whole .....we are all about service marketing message.
I mean I would pay $50 if I had to because they have been really good. I think what I might do is start collapsing accounts backwards into my own to host them.

I agree, it sounds like existing clients are getting the short-end of the deal. What ever happened to the ss 06 upgrade that everyone was supposed to get a couple months back?
- ********0
well i wish i could, liquid.
i think MT is forgetting the fact that there's a lot of designers hosting clients there that can not program themselves at all.
i hired others to do the php/mysql work and install the databases and shit.
i can not afford to hire them again just to get all the dynamic stuff working again on a new server.

i can only hope that one of the MT peeps reads this thread as soon they got the time for it, and clear up some things here..
because, quite frankly, i am still a bit in the dark here.

if you look at it from a "holy shit! Web-hosting, regardless of your 'needs' is cheap as a Russian hooker!" perspective...
... then you'll realize that in the end - you spend less on your web hosting in a year than you probably do on single cups of coffee.
... eh...a LOT less actually. :)
Shit... MY CABLE BILL in one month is more costly than one year of web hosting from MT.
- PhonyMcRingRing0
Let me know if you need help with php stuff Crouwel, I'd be open to some kind of exchange.
- liquid0
yeah man just post up questions if you got probs...
its not as hard as you think....
also... the people that are already hosted there are not getting the short end of the stick....we are getting the same price for what we already did plus a free upgrade.... GS lite.....is still better then SSpro or whatever you were getting before....
SS06 was spin... the grid server is your free upgrade....you are getting 10 times the amount of disk space....and a hell of a lot more bandwidth...

thx phony.

maybe i sound ungrateful but i was really hoping for some space to simply put work on. as a backup server.
that is why i was so happily surprised when i read about the 100 GB..

- liquid0
