well put Baskerville
Sorry I've not been around this last week or so (apologies for missing the drinks too, I am crap at the moment)
Just skimmed through the thread, seems like a lot of talk, but also some really nice work. Good effort Snuggles.
What are the current design proposals? If you have a moment snuggles, repost and we just make a decision? Even if we say we go with one idea and see how that sits with everyone for a while?
I'm catching up with emails at the moment so I need to re-read what came out of the meeting last week and catch up with all this stuff properly.
Love to you all

Oh and nice video Vespa!!

so you don't want people to come to the gig?
This is London there are thousands of posters/ads on view on every street. This needs to shout loudly to get people's attention.
If it's too subtle no one will even see it.By this I don't mean the idea has to be obvious (I'm a fan of subtle) but it needs to jump off the wall.
The mentallists aren't subtle is all I'm saying, neither are venues in camden.

just looked at mike's email from yesterday regarding logos.
Personal preference are the three across the middle.
I actually reckon the one to the left with jumping girl has the most impact and seems the most appropriate? Although I do like one with the ears on the right.
Nice work!

bigger type isn't gonna make people come to the gig... what if someone doesn't like the mentalists or has never heard of them or any of the other acts? do we still want them to come? again this is just getting into subjective debate, to me this would work to get my interest, mostly due to the photography and the small copy...

cheers baskerville.

i think what snuggles has got here is ideal for potential sponsors though.

I see your point snuggles.
I go to a lot of rock gigs though, and I think we need something more, so...Can we take these:
..and on one side, keep it just as it is - focus on the serious aspects of the issues, and then on the flip side, contrast that with a good image of the mentalists, or even just the "girls" looking happier or partying or something?
- mr_snuggles0
there you go, that could work... especially for double sided flyers, Carla and I will come up and set up a shoot with the girls... hope none of them are bashful about nudity...
and actually when she shoots, I'm not actually allowed to be present, but maybe she'll make an exception...

now i don't know if you're taking the piss or not.
will the idea be to your taste?
- ********0
double-sided, serious-fun?
- mr_snuggles0
serious-fun, bril-lekker...
no I'm not taking the piss, I think it's a great idea. I do like most of the Mentailists photography as is, I'll just need some hi-res versions...
it would be amazing to do a shoot though in the same style as Carla's work, her use of lighting has such a Rembrandt-esque feeling to it that you don't see a lot...
- ********0
Do we have time for a photoshoot though?
Maybe vespa's got some surplus images we could use. I'm sure we can get high res from her.
- mr_snuggles0
no we don't and Carla is swamped, it's just another idea for something not possible...
- soda0
good idea... the flip side I mean, rather than nude mentalists...
although, that's rather interesting too...
I'm liking the poster design too snuggles...

morning kids!
i think the confusion at the moment lies around the purpose of the logo snuggles has designed. it was a proposal for sponsorship, not a poster to advertise the gig, am i right?
i which case we're all wondering whether the image appeals to the public when it's not really for the public.
snuggles as head creative could you please clarify? whatever you say goes.
Also, can everyone tell everyone else that Refuge IS a shelter for homeless people. They are women and children who have possibly been victims of domestic abuse but THEY ARE STILL HOMELESS!

Seriously though - t's just a gig, you would think you were rebranding the olympics, get it done and get it to the printers, talk about too many shitty chefs, Baskerville, get back to washing your pots and cleaning the moss from your musical-note guttering.
- vespa0
ps there will be no nude mentalists!
- Baskerville0
Seriously though - t's just a gig
exactly
I'll stay away from this thread from now on.
