i just don't see why they would have Walhberg, a 'legit' cop, shoot in cold blood, when he could take him down the right way.

I didn't get that either.

Great flick. Saw it twice last weekend.
I thought the same thing about the envelope when the movie ended, thought about it for a minute, and realized that's how Marky Mark new to kill The Bourne Identity. Plus he was in the apartment and the door was locked, so she must have contacted him and let him in.
What's the photoshoped image of the girl everyone keeps posting about? I can't remember what scene...

(Oct 16 06, 07:41)Just because Wahlberg is a 'legit' cop doesn't mean the world is black and white and he will always follow the rule of the law. He's also a product of the southie projects and I'm sure it's in his blood to take care of rats in a different way regardless of his job. Damon got what he deserved in a short and to the point way, cold blood was the necessary response and Wahlberg wasn't one to mince his words, or his actions. Besides, DiCaprio's character was the only one with access to the evidence from Nicholson's lawyer so that was out of the question. Also, if you think that cops are somehow more law-abiding than your average citizen you're sadly mistaken.

cute.
yes, thanks for the enlightenment...how nieve of me...but i also know that the movie already provided an example of what i am speaking about when leo was going to take Damon in the right way until he was blown away. Wahlberg could've done the same, as they are all a product of the same environment.

naive i meant :)

Wahlberg done a professional Hitman job on Damon at the end.
I think thats the point it was trying to make. there so corrupt how can you tell the difference.
Dont think Wahlberg was on the payroll though, but his actions were that of a gangster.

Hey Marty,
Forgot to ask, at the end, when Damon was carrying a bag of snacks... Was he finding himself a bit hungry?
Just curious,

Saw it this weekend -
effing great movie.
People love to complain about shit.
or maybe I'm just easy to please.
THought the ending was great - thought the elevator scene was great - and the lines in this movie don't stop.
