I fucking love it when my jaded co-workers bump shit up just to take the piss.
As it happens - I think I'm coming through the other side. I've been really happy with the work I've done this and last week and feeling more positive.
The snowstorm in town last night really helped!

the whole world is happy for your good week....
just bear in mind, this will happen again, usually in a matter of weeks...the sooner you realize it, anticipate it, the healthier you will be mentally...

I'm sure everybody get's to a point every once in a while when they are feeling inspirationless. It's nothing new - like any creative job you have to ride the ups and downs and I suppose just staying positive during the 'down' periods and doing things to find your creativity again is always a good thing.
That and having a good moan about it on an internets forum so that your co-workers can take the piss.

have you ever read a brilliant book by a content and happy author? seen a breathtaking painting by a jovial artist? Channel your anger, sorrow and frustration... show'em who's boss...
turn that frown upside down, chin-up mate, and all that other nonsense...

a. it's just a job. if you get to do work that inspires you 1/16th of the time then you have it better than most in the work force.
b. it's just a job. you have a family to go home to after a good or bad day.
c. do you think Kim Jong-il has the most exciting job in the world?

watch the 'meet your meat' youtube if you need some perspective.

I think what snuggles is saying is the sooner we all resign ourselves to a life of frustration and defeat, the better

It was so beautiful this morning driving to work...god I love CO. I was playing soccer in shorts and a tshirt last weekend in the blazing sun.

pretty much...
happiness is out there, for some finding consolation in their friends, families etc, is what life is all about...personally I'm still waiting to find people that can grab my attention long enough for me to stop thinking about creating things...
misery is my companion and for now, we get on just fine. she motivates me to do better and to continue my search... without her I'm just like everyone else... treating this profession as a job...
to each his own, I have a world of respect for the great graphic designers who are also great fathers, mothers, teachers and friends outside of design...
