that's just the thing... everyone wants job satisfaction. hell, even me. and i certainly don't deserve it. i'm only passionate about shoes.
there might be something in what our grandparents' generation did: get your head down and do the work, take pleasure in doing it well, but don't demand sexy from it. meh. i dunno.

Yesterday was my bi-monthly 'cleansing' day where in phoenix-like fashion I burn off all my hair and rise again from the [h]ash brownies, renewed yet slightly vulnerable and with a wicked case of the munchies...

well the single will be out in 6 weeks. working madly to get the video done which is fun but lots of hard work. haven't had more than 5 hours sleep a night for weeks and i think i'm going a bit wonky. gig in bath tonight. dirty pretty things tomorrow.

The truth is, even the sexy agencies sometimes have their designers doing crap work. It just depends on what you want. I know someone who is a designer at a really big agency and he spends his day doing flash ad banners for big brands. They might be sexy flash banners but still.
I think you can do crap work or great work anywhere...ok, well, maybe not anywhere.
I think what's most important is the bar you set for yourself as a designer.

Don't worry about being dirrect at all. I'm temporarily down but I'll get back up soon.Been doing print much longer than interactive so i tend to be more loose on print projects. Plus, I do freelance print projects outside teh company which allows greater freedom.
1. I will allow myself more creativity in my interactive projects.
2. I will raise my personal bar.
3. I will start working on some "personal" projects to boost my confidence and showcase my abilities.
Honestly, I love design, But if i had a choice I'd rather be writing novels. Perhpas when i retirre.

there was this new site mentioned in the independant - like myspace, but lets you sell your music for free. You can set the price, and I think the company gets like 10% of each d/l. It's for unsigned bands only I believe. Can't remember the name though... indieband or something cheesy like that.
