tell me. what are your thoughts?
apparently it is a styleguide for people who do not like styleguides.
it's nice, and i get the idea.
but.. would they actually 'use' this?

bump, you lousy mingers, BUMP!

I can't get teh HiRes site to load (slowness attack here) but I see what you mean, the idea seems pretty obvious for MTV, was there ever any strict guidelines, or any danger of them? Seems like someone wanted HiRes involved possibly to cement that philosophy?
- jamble0
hi-res site didn't work for me when I looked earlier

(Sep 26 06, 03:10)so it seems.
so it looks like mtv will go to great lengths to lose the image of a being a big corporation?

(Sep 26 06, 03:51)i am sure that fucker is looking for fame and recognition as well, and as soon he's been crowned by the underground he will move on to the big bucks and embrace the mainstream! FFS!

Back to Hi Res for a sec, I think they supplied the style guide as a load of editable elements that equated to a lot of the stuff you see on the pages there – mate of mine works at precursor and he was telling me about it a few months after they worked on it. They had to supply workable elements because otherwise what did MTV pay for? Mopst of teh stuff was used outside the UK anyways.....
I really liked the work too!

"Update (September 4): Florian Schmitt, Creative Director of Hi-Res, wrote me to clarify the matter:
I have no idea where you got this styleguide from, it looks like a variation of something that formed part of the overall package we made with Precursor, but it’s not something we have done. Our stlyeguide didn’t even have logo guidelines, but was rather a box with inspirational material, not rules. No idea where this is from, but I would assume that MTV produced this themselves.
Best
