Does anyone here use this? What do you think of it? Is it worth it?

I hope the UI for managing you money is better than their sites.

ing rules! it seems the only place with a better interest rate is paypal....

ing interface sucks.
i don't know what's the rate now, 4.35 or something. i have some money in it but i think i am moving to citi e-saving after this month. citi e-saving is 5%. and it's a lot easier for me to manage since i already have citi checking account and i often want to transfer money around.

it sucks, but i have seen alot worse.
i think its easy enough. i mean its not online banking, i just go there, tell it to take money from my checking account and leave thats it. works great for what you need it for. i would reccommend them, much better then your standard savings account. just do not use it if you will need to withdraw money the next day, it takes like 3 days.

I just signed up for an account. As I suspected the UI is a complete eyesore. The 4.40% makes up for it though. It doesn't look like you have to spend much time there anyway.
I wasn't aware of the 5% citibank account.

3 days, while obviously more accessible than a savings bond up to a certain time, is still not really ideal for an emergency fund.

citi bank e-saving is so much easier esp if you have their checking already.
instant transfer. ing is a pain in ass esp if you can find a better deal.
also the way they make you log on is retarded. u need a customer id. not created by you, but given by them. so everytime i log in, i have to check.

Thanks for the info. I shoud've checked this thread again before signing up.
Btw, I like their lion symbol. I think there design could be really nice if done in a more subtle, sophisticated style.

citibank e-savings is a great rate and nice and easy to use, but my god do they send you a ton of credit card offers. also they require you to sign up for the ez checking.

never trust a dutch bank.
- tkmeister0
alkanenine,
what you need to do is call the number to stop them mailing you. i did that and now i don't get any offers.

(Sep 18 06, 14:41)i once did a complete restyle pitch with an amsterdam design shop for their HR identity.
it was fucking subtle all over! drove me crazy.
still, mine was chosen in the end which sort of made it all worth it. :)

american site looks different to the dutch one tho..

i'm in the uk, i'm with ING, UI is ok. wtf is with the US version? reminds me of ipod meets microsoft
- Teeuwen0
it looks really designed for a country's familiar design style. so i can see the scanlines and the "Kruger" bold italics idea...

The US UI is the screaming opposite of subtle.
That site is more like the Design King meets Geocities.

postbank lion is cooler.
mr. snuggles works on this company's stuff everyday at DieTwee.

Getting a bunch of credit card offers is a big turn off. Also I didn't see any FAQ for more info on the e-savings pages.
- ninjasavant0
I use both. ING is for savings that I can't get to easily so it stays there.

Oh yeah, I like the Postbank lion. I wonder if those are some really old clipart anyone can find.

That's true the more of a pain in the ass it is the less likely you'll blow it. More return in the long run.
