I wouldn't mind so much if they hadn't missed the whole point of transformers. They transformed to disguise themselves, I thought. A weird-looking alien jet isn't a very good disguise. Everyone would be like, "hey- look at that weird alien jet. I bet it turns into a giant evil robot."

well, were they autobots before they came to earth? Y'see, that whole been around for millions of years yet they are called autobots thing doesn't really make sense.

it makes perfect sense...on cybertron they were autobots..or automated...it has absolutely nothing to do with automobiles as their bodies were of alien in terms of structure, shape, colour and feel.
i think everyone is over looking the whole story or you just dont know the actuall history, and are only filling in the blanks from your memories of what you seen in the cartoons but over looked the books.
also the japanese version is 100% different than the american original versions.
the story lines are very different too.
the builds of the bodies have always changed but remained the same as faar as heirarchy in terms of who is the boss.
anyways the jet fighter [megatron] is the exact one used in Beast Machines and was the body of JetStorm.
