If you can't afford the Sennheiser HD265 ,

I tested out 2 pairs of in ear monitors over the last few days.
-Sennheiser CX 300
-Shure E2cThe Senn's are very light and look easy to maintain but the thin, asymetrical J-cord is lame-o. The design of the E2c's might look a little dated and having to replace the mesh wax guard periodically is wack but in terms of build and audio quality in this price range, the Shure's win hands down. The Shure's came with 9 different sets of sleeves upping your chances of finding a good seal which is crucial.

There is no such thing as "in ear monitors" monitors by definnition are calibrated to deliver flat response, no matter how advanced the sound quality on the earphones are, it is very unlikely that you will be able to compare the sound perception you get from a good set of pro headphones.
