I'll probably never get a tattoo, but I've been thinking lately that it would be pretty cool to get one that is a color just a shade or two darker than my skin. Very subtle. Like a color burn in Photoshop.
Anybody got any ink like that?

******************Here's the only thing about that cvirus, it's not dumb. And you got all literalist on me with your lighter idea. The color isn't actually burned, it's ink.

here's the only thing, chaztoo...it will look the same either way and you can save yourself $50 and the embarrassment of having the tat guy laugh you out of the shop.

I want to get a subtle tattoo as well, so maybe I should just get one in a place I don't reveal all the time...

(Jul 20 06, 06:34)"Anyone with an undesired tattoo is a candidate for laser tattoo removal. Most tattoo colors can be eliminated or lightened to a large degree. However, skin colored tattoos may undergo irreversible ink darkening. This is seen with some white, pink, flesh-toned and light brown tattoo inks. Red ink tattoos may turn black. A test dose is a good idea in these situations, and the tattoos may be improved with subsequent laser treatments."

"Black ink absorbs all laser wavelengths which makes it the easiest to treat. Blue is also fairly easy while green and yellow are the hardest. (5) If a tattoo is done by an amateur artist, the ink particles are larger and may be contained on several layers of dermis. This increases the amount of exposure to the beam needed to produce the charring effect. A professional artist will typically have better control over the tattoo "gun" and distribute the ink more evenly and with more precision. (2) No matter what condition the tattoo is in, laser removal is a bloodless, low risk alternative. It is usually performed in several sessions on an outpatient basis."

1994 had a small blue asterisk inked on my wrist -- had it inked again for a solid colour -- 2002 had it inked in black and bigger -- thats 3 times same place -- it wouldn't come off in a hurry nor would i want it to.

i have a short note-to-self on my wrist in a shade just darker than my skin. most people who notice it think it's a scar.
