This is a very preliminary version of our site. The home page, content and scroll bars have not been formatted yet. Please bash as we are meeting tomorrow morning with the coding guy. Thanks.

Once a noob, always a noob

Oh my.
- gramme0
um
try again.

My feelings as well. That's why I am asking for input. We are print people with what I think is a strong brand identity and a good product. Looking for your help? There is a disconnect between our designer and our "web guy".

It reminds me of MySpace.
- gramme0
it's very chunky, nothing seems to be working for you at this point.
- sherman0
srsly
- smltom0
Never been to Myspace, agree with chunky. I am paying for this site, didn't create it. I respect the people on PVN and was looking for constructive criticism that I could use to help in my meeting. I have been impressed with the taste, style and opinions of the people who post here.

I don't really know where to begin. The type is large and horsey, the images look awful. It looks like someone's blog or a very hastily-done holding page. Hasty as in 30 seconds while blindfolded and under the influence.
Sorry you ended up with a bad developer. Fire him. Then find someone decent on here.

maybe it was supposed to be an ironic appropriation of a vernacular style

i love the stock photo of the shaking hands, it symbolizes agreement and understanding. amazing!
but alas it is racist as one of the hand shoudl be black!
back to the drawing board!

ummm...whoever your designer is i think they need to try again and not design it in quark...
- Super_Chef0
yikes.
Nope, there is no starting point from this thing. it needs to go away and never be seen ever again. I'm still not sure if all this is just a joke...obviously there are problems between your designer and web guy. Fire your designer and contract anyone here to help you out.
For goodness sake, get that thing off the internet... it's polluting it!!!! Nobody should ever have to look at that, ESPECIALLY where money is concerned! I can't stress that enough. Give me your designers email address and i'll give him a talking to

well, i'm not gonna lie. I don't think it works. If you had a designer, he didn't really do too much. Nothing feels designed for as much experience you are claiming. The coding is still using tables for a super simple layout. Would be cake in css. Which is what they should be using anyway. Flash is embedded using the object tag, need to change that. Overall, it feels very very cheap could pass for a site designed in 1998.
If your serious about it, someone around here can help you out and you'll be lightyears ahead of what you got.

the icons need a good slapping.
the only think that is even half way decent to use on that puppy is the header. if you loose the welcome. scrap everything else, but even then there is a better way.

just give him some FUCKING CONSTRUCTIVE HELP PLEASE
Are we all so above ourselves now, so twisted and jaded, and beyond salvation, that the best we can do is offer up a flurry of desperate put downs?
Just help the man out for fucks sake
- smltom0
Thanks all, I feel somewhat as you do. The horsey type has not been formatted by our designer and the images on the home page are a joke. I think I posted this too early but do appreciate all of your brutal honesty. I do like the overall graphic format, simplicity and icons. Am I off base there?

dood. i think your designer took a web design class at the holiday inn one weekend and now he's making you a website. my constructive crit is - look for a new one.
