So about the dickering with dell,
It paid off.
After politely waiting and stating my case, I was was treated beyond nicely
I informed the woman on the phone, May, that the 20" monitor I was interested in was priced @ $344.17 2 days ago and was now priced @ 367.20.
If they would honor the $344.17 price, I would place the order now.
So after being put on hold for 2 minutes I was told my quote was being prepared and put on hold for another 5 minutes.
I was polite, happy and cheerful the entire time.
May came back on the phone and told me that my monitor price would be $342.65 (-24.95), shipping would be free(-9.95), the 3yr warranty would be increased to 5yr(-49), and I would receive the soundbar attachment free as well(-29).
In total, a savings of $115 between discounts & upgrades just for using the phone to place my order.

my wife and i went to vernon, nj today, about an hour outside of the city(THE city, NYC-ity)
to go mountain biking but the hills there were all too hardcore so we ended up just going to the top of the gondola and hiking down. Halfway down the mountain we crossed paths with a big huge black bear, it totally scared us. It was right there in front of us, like 30 yards.
Anyway, we got down safely, then drove around, went on some back roads and came across a cool lake/pond hung out there for a while, then went to a restaurant and then watched fireworks at vernon, they were pretty good ones.
just got home and we're hittin' the hay. It was a pretty good day to be me.

it's the best! they're almost literally sold like hotdogs where i bought it. i was the fifteenth that afternoon who bought one (well a set with tamron extreme zoom lens, both were awarded last year by tipa or something)..
the body and lens costed me 1275 euro's. bought me a nikon sb600 flash with it for about 220 euro's and a bounce box to put on it for about 26 euros.
i have not had any complaints yet!
the only thing is, the camera is not fast enough for sports etc. ie. to make many shots at once is hard...
i have checked so many other camera's but this one jsut rules, it has a nikon F-Mount and a very solid PRO(!) body with all sorts of pro features and rigidness etc.
and the camera alone costs only 995 euros!
(it used to be about 3000 euros when it was released about a year and a half ago, but it's still not dated in terms of pixels etc..).

oh yeah, the one thing that makes this camera stand out in terms of image quality is the rich tonal range. esp. skin colors go very well, and greens in nature etc. with a polarization filter you can even push it further and get deep deep blue skies.
sometimes the saturation is a little too much but you can easily tone that down..
