The $45 T-Shirt

Remember when you could get a nice t-shirt for 18 bucks, and even that was a lot of money? I remember going to Supreme and getting their logo shirts for like $20. What the hell happened? I see $45 as the new standard price for designed t-shirts (not including threadless). And when you spend that much for a t-shirt, do you just toss it in the washing machine, do you pay $5 to dry clean it? And then they always shrink or your dog jumps on you and its ruined, then what? The $45 price tag isn't a new thing, its just soemthing I've finally realized is the new standard price for "exclusive" tees.

Just never wash them. Seriously, how dirty do you get a shirt anyways? Those "designer" shirts are usually so damned thin anyways that they run the risk of being destroyed in about two washing cycles.

But I agree that superly-thin shirts can be annoying to wash. Maybe hand wash them then so they last longer.
I don't spend more than $30 for a t-shirt, and it better be a good one at that. Other shirts, such as blouses and the like are a different story, since they're more for getting 'dressed up'.

you need to learn how to handwash

I like wearing just plain ole t-shirts. And then for a minute there I was always kind of wearing what I went to work in out on the town, but I stopped that nonsense.
Went back to slumming it, compared to all the other guys with spiked hair and button down shirts, buttoned down to their navel.

Designers always buy expensive shit.

Not that I have spiked hair.
My hair is an unkempt masterpiece.
And yes, the plain ole t-shirts I buy are expensive.

Hrm, the more I think about - I think the reason I buy expensive shit is because I can.
I never really had anything in my younger years so I try to do everything I wasn't able to back then, haha.
At the same time I get the same kick out of buying something really cheap and then flavorfulling it up to be dope.
- Jaline0
younger years? lol, you're like the same age as I am...
- flavorful0
Haha, I had "as a kid" but I didn't like that because I still like to think I am a kid.
I meant younger years when everyone in town would be rocking new gear everyday, and I'd be in the same rutty hand-me-downs and once spring hit the sweatpants I wore would be turned into shorts/swim turnks, haha.

I had hand-me-downs as well (from my distant relatives), but I felt truly sorry for my siblings (not at the time, though) who all had to wear my stuff since they were all younger. So they got like third generation hand-me-downs, whereas I'd get new stuff as well as old stuff.

ya if i see a shirt and i really want it i'll spend the 40-60 $ on it, like scarabin id be wasting it elsewhere anyways.

i also think of it this way i have few addictions / internet / music / and clothes. i dont smoke and rarely get drunk so i save money that some use on smokes + bars and use it for my addictions
