haha antigirl, is work hard to find where you are? i've never really tried because i didn't want to have a career right out of school. but i've gotta say not being able to pay the bills / bar tab is a bitch.

day rate is awesome because for me, it's always just been concepts/ideas, and to get paid for that shit. it's cool as hell, plus it's good money.
slacker, the problem is, i never try to get work. it happens very very rare.. yeah, my car is broken down right now and i just moved (still in phx, just to a new apartment) and everything is a disaster kinda. hahhaa but whatever. i am sure if i was able to sell myself more it would definitely pay off, but it's hard to do that. almost every job i had i was approached..
i got a few nice projects right now but that is another thing that sucks about freelance, waitin around for checks.

you at least went to school for it, you'd be able to score a job easy i think.
i haven't been to school since a very young age and my only real job was a call center where i cut and pasted serial numbers all fucking day and that ended at the end of may.
right now i am looking for part time work, nothing design or computer related, cos i got no skillz (i kid, kinda - i plan to work on the selling factor soon!!) so i applied at starbucks and i got a call back for a 2nd interview a sec ago so hopefully that works itself out.
my bank account is straight hurtin.

I have a shit pay, everything here is the price of the us x 2 or 3. + a mean 40%+ tax. What good is 6k with that?

how accurate are these surveys anyway? i'd definitely exaggerate my salary to raise the average.

i was making 1200 a month with my call center job (if i worked 40 hours a week, for 4 weeks - it was hell but most of the time i did it), and my rent was more than that. it is scary when you cannot even buy the things you need let alone the things you want.

Can't complain, I'm making above average according to the AIGA survey, but at times it still feels like not enough. I sometimes think design is an undervalued profession compared with many others.

The agencies up here charge
$120+/hour, so maybe it's time to start up on my own.

I have a friend working in a bank making $15k/month and we finished at the same time. Both with a BA, mine in arts, his in business.. Rich bastard... but he is bored to shit from 8-5 every day.. ..oh wait.. so am I.. Doh!..

Don't want to check the link while i'm here at work, but I can probably assure you its less than average. But who cares I'm young and i need to pay my dues and be taken advantage of for a while. it builds character.
