chicago has some good agencies. hit them up and see what'll happen.
there's no need to waste your time in the company with a crazy cd. the market is good, everyone is looking to hire and willing to pay the top $.

CD here stands for 'crappy designer'

ex, as I've been thinking about it... that's exactly how it is.
Plus, all of this started after she made the TERRIBLE mistake of helping out with a print project using InDesign. She was sitting on the other side of my wall and didn't realize the boss was sitting with me in my cube. She didn't konw how to make a text box, place a file, or align text. And, her 'design' was horrible. So I gave her an honest quick 5 minute class on the basics of InDesign.
When I came back to the boss she asked "isn't that basic stuff?!?". I said yes and then she goes "interesting... she said she was 'advanced' at in when we hired her 2 years ago." haha. What a joke.

(Jun 12 06, 11:02)On Friday just before I left I took a long-shot and sent an email to the owner of the company asking what was going on. She loves me and I figured she'd tell it to me like it is. Well, my gut feeling paid off and she didn't know the CD posted the job. Actually, neither owner knew (husband and wife) and the President was unaware either and I guess after I left all hell broke loose.
Today it wasn't a surprise to anyone here when the CD called in 'sick'. Her plan to get rid of me by telling everyone I was looking so she had to replace me backfired and now I'm not really sure what is going to happen.
When I spoke with her earlier in the day via a telephone she said "she heard I was interviewing" and I said "well then why didn't you come straight to me and ask? Instead you post my job up without telling anyone or getting it approved."
It's sketchy dude. Real sketchy.

(Jun 12 06, 11:08)She has to make a ton.
We only get 2 weeks. Since I've been here for almost 4 months now she still hasn't worked a full week. And three seperate times she's called in sick for a full week. It's rediculous.

She sounds like a moron

Flex one of your arm muscles and say it would be that easy 'THAT' easy (as you crush a walnut within it's vice grip)

Is it even legal to fire someone without discussing with them the work habits or quality issues they would need to improve first? Otherwise how would an employee even know they were doing something wrong? It would be poor management at the least not to communicate the issue with them.
This obviously excludes behavior that is illegal or outrageous.

no pre-nup=they can fire you for any or no reason.
I'm glad to hear her plan seems to be backfiring, K0na...you could be up for her job but I'd still say make like a baby and get the hell outta there. Having been fired before, and for no apparent reason...the preemptive strike is always better than waiting around to find out what could happen.
Good luck man.
